I personally already have a ps4, though I no longer play Destiny.
I do however have several friends that also have a ps4, however all their Destiny stuff is on last gen (they mostly bought TTK at September and then got their ps4's around Christmas time. As it is right now though, they would have to re-purchase TTK, or buy the legendary edition of Destiny that includes all the DLC up til now.
I do not think this is really fair as these people have payed the same price as everyone else for their content, but if they want to continue playing they would have to pay double what other players would have to pay($30 for Taken King, $30 for Rise of Iron). $60 to play any expansion is just asking too much.
Please, Bungie, if you read this there is something that needs to be done or you will lost some players that are actually faithful to you and your game.
Edit: I love all the morons who immediately came in here with the "Lol Poor Kids" argument. Just goes to show you didn't read.
Second off, the price isn't the problem, it's the principle of the matter. You should never have to re-purchase content you already own just to continue playing the game and that is why the people I mentioned above are refusing to continue on with Destiny as much as they would love to keep playing.
Finally, I guess I should have know better to seek support on a site that constantly mocks anyone of lesser fortune. I mean Christ, this is the community that gave shit to the guy that got Fate of all Fools from Bungie after having brain surgery. Speaking of, those that are crying "entitled" make me laugh my ass off, the hypocrisy is real on this site. Destiny players are probably the most entitled crybabies there are, but when someone ask for a bit of fair treatment as a fellow fan/player all you people can think to do is take a shit on them.
No wonder this game is going to shit and the Devs can't figure out what to do. Shitty community=shitty game I guess.

While I understand your point and agree there should be more support for those on legacy consoles but the facts are the majority of players are on the current gen and keeping the game on 4 platforms is no longer viable. The game as a whole can not progress forward if it is still being shackled by the limitations and memory capacity of the older consoles. This transition was going to happen at somepoint. I fully expected it to be when destiny 2 came out but hey its come abit sooner. A shame that not all players can not move forward for various reasons but it needed to happen to improve the game and allow them to create a much better experience for the majority of players. Also one point to note you won't lose your characters and so long as you stay in the same console family you can bring them all forward. Look at my playstation experience for example, it started on my friends ps3 and now he has taken king on ps4 I can play as my character and move it forward, he did the same. Though I admit it is bad having to rebuy content but you can alway sell or trade in old copies of the game to recoup some costs. Now in terms of owning the game, actually we don't, when we signed the eula and license agreements we agreed and accept that we have access to content and do not own it. Bungie under this can also modify, change, remove or restrict content as they deem fit and we can't do anything about it. In many case these agreements are legally binding and agreeing to them means we accept these terms. The entitlement that people have should not be there because of the agreements signed but then I can understand why as bungie has lied a few times. Most notably when SBMM was brought into crucible last December.

1 답변So I should get Batman: Arkham Asylum Remastered for free because I've had it for PS3 too? Seems legit...

1 답변This isn't unique to bungie or destiny. Theres plenty of cross platform games. Few if any give you a free upgrade to xb1 or ps4 if you originally purchased on 360 or ps3. Your friends made the choice to purchase ttk when they did instead of waiting for their new systems.

I started on last gen, upgraded to current gen this time last year, all my friends upgraded before me. honestly im glad Bungie decided to move on and leave last gen behind. its the way of the world. it has happened with every gaming company in the past, just because people invested in a dying system does not mean the dev needs to continuously cater to them. I know people cant afford it(saving up the last 3 years could have helped. Mostly they are adamant in their laziness to upgrade .

3 답변Dude, those of us that had to upgrade are lucky that they were even giving us vanilla-HoW. How is it a sound business practice to just give away your latest product? You guys should be happy they were nice enough to allow everything up to TTK to carry over for free. You're acting like profits aren't a real thing that companies are actually concerned with.

1 답변Agreement here. It really is rather unfair that in addition to being forced to upgrade to continue the game, which in and of itself may cost a lot of money if they don't already have a next gen console, they have to pay for a version of both destiny and ttk. Then again maybe bungie planned on all these people staying loyal knowing full well they could milk the extra 30-40$ out of them.

Lol old news dude. Wrong move seeking solace on the forums. Everyone is either too poor, or hasn't gotten good. Good choice on PS4 though!! Its no surprise the trolls came a running to this post. Smells like bait.....Good job?

It has changed for the worst unfortunately. The first six months of the game being out was an awesome time on the forums. Things were constantly being explored and the community was helpful towards helping others. Now everyone is out for themselves.

I bought the collectors edition of ttk on PS3 and then upgraded to ps4 around Christmas and bought the legendary edition. It six because I can no longer use the collectors edition emotes and shaders that I got when I bought ttk for PS3 but they are still in my inventory. That is some bs.
-
GameStop sells the legendary edition for $34.00 for PS4. Or how about wait and see what they announce for people upgrading. Folks say that the forums are cancerous now but instead of 500 people posting in one topic about this shit we see it 500 times because everyone wants to feel special. That's why we are assholes, we hate scrolling past this type of thread 50 times to get to one that we care about.

I personally want everyone to come forwards but that's where we gotta move. If we keep on staying behind to cater to every console, then we'd be in a bad spot. You really can't improve the game you got now cause your hardware is simply not good enough so the game doesn't stay behind for also the current gen players, we lose it all together.
-
They didn't do something like that with this expansion because this community is garbage and cried about how, "I payed this much and he only has to pay that much blah blah blah" so blame the community for this one pal.

작성자: Sycoa 7/2/2016 1:36:27 AMEhh, it goes two ways. All of us on current gen payed more for the consoles than they are worth now, and had to deal with the restraints from last gen holding the game back, so they can dish out another $80. On the other side, Deej said himself on live stream, that they were working with Microsoft and Sony to offer players a way to upgrade, which many took as meaning a discount on something, be it the console or the game or the dlc or maybe a RoI special promo deal like pre order the new dlc and get ttk for free if you already own it on last gen. On that topic though, as a business that needs profit, I can't see Bungies claims of 90% on new gem being true if they forcing everyone to pay. From the way I run a business, I give up some profit margin from the sales to the ones coming to new gen, in order to increase sales on my new dlc, which means sales for my next title release. Either way they're basically forcing you to upgrade the same way they did with TTK, you lose trials, IB, events etc if you don't upgrade I personally don't mind either way, the more players for the sbmm grinder the better the connections should become. Plus I always figured that it would be kids left on last gen that can't afford new consoles, but it seems from what I've read lately that this generation of parents are happy dishing out $700 electronics to their kids yearly to keep them occupied, and it's the parents of kids that actually have to pay for sports and such that are still on last gen. If that's the case then for sure looking forward to it, tierd of getting kids messages after matches in PvP and playing with kids in the raid that ask what gun they should use now.

Lol have you read responses to these type of posts before? Cuz if you did you had to know how this was going to go lol Nobody is entitled to anything. You want something you pay for it. The "they already paid for it" argument is invalid because they haven't paid for the versions on the current gen consoles

1 답변If they don't have TTK on PS4, they're SOL, Bungie could do something if they were feeling nice. They offered a deal to upgrade last year, that how I upgraded to PS4 and XBone ...

This is just like saying "Hey Bungie, I just bought an Xbox One, but already had Destiny on my PS4 so you should give me Destiny for free on XBox because I have already purchased the TTK. I am sorry but Xbox 360/One - PS3/4 are completely separate consoles (I mean 4 different consoles) and so you can't expect Bungie to just give content away. People forget they employ hundreds of people that all have salaries, insurance, and various taxes. They can't keep those people employed if they give everything away. I am sure each version was developed by separate teams and so it's not like the software is the same across all the platforms. Bungie is a business expect them to act like one.

Hmmm no. Why do people think they should get stuff for free! I had to repurchase TTK when I upgrade, I did not complain. I expected since I did not get my console before ttk, I would be expected to repurchase it. They are a business. They have to set limitations and they said so from the beginning of ttk. Between nerf everything community and I should get everything for free community this community is f**cking crazy. I know everyone is allowed their opinions but this is getting out of hand. I wish you luck in the real world!
