Has anyone noticed...
...an increase in lag switchers this IB?
Personally I came across a couple of morons doing this (I'm not naming names).

It's not lag, I can tell, as they teleport only when they get into an encounter, not before, not after. Another thing that caught my attention was fireteams of 4-6, where one guy is red bar and hides somewhere. After the match, he usually has no kills at all, max one or two. I've been thinking about writing a post on it, since that seems pretty nefarious to me and should be called out, so it doesn't become a thing.

6 답변It's mostly server latency issues. Ping. Ping. Ping. You're giving too many players credit for actually knowing how to lag switch. Let alone know what it means to do so.

1 답변Jesus! Not everybody is lag switching. Half of this kids don't even know what it means or how it works. It's overall bad connections and server latency. It takes one bad apple to ruin the batch. If you're bad at pvp before the "lag switching" it's likely you're still bad during and after.

Maybe its a new server side feature that when your doing to good in Crucible, like you got too many kills in too short a time (like the cap on glimmer in PvE) the Damage Ref steps in and turns all your bullets into cotton balls Its because the ban hammer is a soft kids play one that squeaks when you tap something

I have only seen 1 maybe 2 recently. I would say it was lag switching because they have a perfect connection and is doing fine but when he gets into a firefight one on one his connection reds and his character gets very jumpy, glitchy. When this happens I do 0 damage to him and he shoots me like nothing is happening and kills me. After I'm dead his connection goes back to green after a few seconds and his character is just fine like nothing happened. You can claim this is just a some kind of connectivity issue and I was just unlucky but when it happens more than just once I don't think it's a real connection issue.

2 답변This may be a stupid question... But how do you tell the difference between someone who's lagging and someone who's cheating? If it's ruining a crucible game for me, I always only report for bad connection. How am I supposed to know if they're trying to cheat or not?

3 답변I would almost be willing to bet not a single person actually "lag switches" it's just you crying about loosing to some dude with crappy Internet! Rural parts of America don't have speed that big towns have so just deal with it

I really wouldn't jump to the whole "lag switch" thing. If it was a few matches here and there, meh, maybe. But it's almost every single match in every single lobby that is having problems with hit detection, timing, and holding server connections. When you trade kills with someone and there is no post mortem medal, timing is off. When you are hitting your target and seeing the damage numbers, but not seeing the health bar move, hit detection. When you have a great connection and all of the sudden it whomps into the mud and you get the contacting destiny servers. This game is struggling for some reason. The patches and updates need to be for fixing the issues. Trials and IB were cancelled because a few players weren't finding matches, we'll now they are finding matches but the experience is still iffy. Some games it's great and feels right, other games it's a player that's invincible, or going 1v1 and winning only to die randomly by the person you beat 3 seconds ago. Something is off, but I think saying lag switching is the problem is giving a lot of people wayyyy to much credit. Plus, isn't lag switching dead these days? I thought the new fad was DDOS'ing? That would make more sense with all the contacting destiny server junk. Haha. Hopefully they figure it out and fix it though. It does get pretty annoying.

I don't know if it's lag switching destiny has been having a hard time with connections I never lag I have 300 Mbps and 120 upld depending on who's using my internet but all the sudden I started getting that connecting to destiny server error and I was bouncing all over the place with a hard ass red bar

1 답변It's not lag switching. There is a serious problem with latency and hit detection right now. Something in the game is off and I think you are giving people too much credit

Match making has sucked was playing banner last night but 3 straight games we never had full teams 3v4, 3v3, then we added a player and got dropped in to a game in progress with 3 of us. And it's not like no one was playing I had a page and av half of friends that were on playing at least 10 in banner.
