Wife got me a PS4. :)
Well... thanks to the wife, it looks like my adventure will continue.
We don't have much money, and i've been preparing to retire from console gaming (and probably gaming all together). So the wife (who also plays destiny) has been scheming to aquire a PS4 to support my hobby. Yesterday she delivered, it was very surprising, confusing, and quite shocking. She had really busted her ass sneaking around and saving money. She also creeps on my forum posts, and she's sleeping. So hop in here married gamers and tell your stories (or just let my ol' lady know how badass she is for doing this for me, she will definately read this at some point today)

My ps3 was going out, disc drive was beginning to go out and the ps4 just came out. I was posting my resumé to boeing and noticed my wife rushed in our room, 20 mins later I got done and went to our room and wife said surprise. She spent $499 plus tax straight out of pocket which we couldn't afford. Still rocking the same ps4 to this day. Total hourly wage at the time was 25.00 an hour between the both of us, I made 10.00 and she made 15.00 plus we were getting ready to have a kid.

(I just got him The Last of Us for Father's Day) Here is my little story: My husband and I gifted ourselves a PS4 with Destiny TTK as a wedding gift/Christmas gift to ourselves. We were married December 6th so it only made sense lol. (We basically used all our target gift cards and paid nothing out of pocket lol) We both loved the game so much and were disappointed we couldn't play co-op together, so we saved and saved and got some money back from our tax returns and bought the Destiny edition PS4. Now we get to play together (he got us headsets a few weeks ago too). Now our son wants to play, but we couldn't afford another ps4, so we gave him our PS3 and a Destiny TTK of his own. Granted he can't really play with us, but we all take turns rotating playing with him on the Ps4's, which he loves. Son's birthday is coming up and is asking for a PS4 of his own...but we told him he should ask his grandpa for one as a bday present lol.

Congrats on the PS4! I was going to have to end my "reign of terror" on the Darkness as well but a friend from my clan (that I've never met in real life) not only helped me get TTK but a few months late he GAVE ME HIS PS4 (he got a 1TB one to replace it!)! I agree: this community is AWESOME and I've met some really nice people here. Feel free to add me (PSN: LightScribed) and mention this post. I'll be happy to game with you. Oh! Your wife is AWESOME for doing this for you both; definitely kudos to her!

You sound so greatfull that you can just play a video game. Since when did life in general get to the point where we are so damn happy and great-full that we as men need to act like women and come on forums and act like women ourselves to spread our joyfullness. Congrats man. My wife did the same for me last year with my Xbox one. My 360 had crapped out on me and I just couldn't justify spending the money at the moment on myself. Really awesome man. Make sure you do something extra special for her.

Tell her that she is also awesome and that she deserves the sex. Or whatever, maybe she likes lemon meringue pie. Now that you are on ps4, if you need help with doing something in a couple months let me know, I'm kind of in between internets but I don't mind helping others... Half the time...
