Well, there's nothing else too do. Besides IB, I play PvP from June to September. I've never really been one to call for nerfs as much as I prefer buffs. To me, camping and sniping sounds boring. It also seems to be a pretty low risk way to play unless your running Trials. I rarely snipe thou, I just don't see the attraction of waiting for someone to enter your shooting lane. Although I never did it I never minded blink shotgun or the old slide shotgun. It's just not my style and it seems a little too risky for me. I prefer to mix it up and have some fun as my k/d reflects. I mean, Destiny is not MLG certified and never will be. It's just a place to take your prize gear and blow off some steam. Remember it is a game and games are supposed to be fun.

Because there is nothing else to do. There are such huge gaps between pve content releases that if you dont play pvp, you may as well not log in.

I moved over to DOOM and Overwatch for my PvP now. I'm really liking the arena style play with DOOM and the TF2 class based play with Overwatch. I'm out for ROI, as I can't justify the price tag when I could get a full title instead.

Thank you everyone for the feedback, my original intention of this post was a bit salty, wondering why people that constantly complain and want the game nerfed into oblivion would continue to play. Seeing these responses and how they were worded respectfully (thank you) it seems like we all play simply for fun and my hope would be the devs would take note, ignore the constant cries for nerfs and bring it back or even forward to what it could really be! If you ever played halo, you know Bungie is capable of so much more as far as game mode variety, those that want ultra competitive, make a mode like swat, make everyone equal, primary weapon does a ton of damage and we all have the same one and armor, no abilities. Keep vanilla crucible as an option as the majority seems to really miss it and add capture the flag, big team, you know, all the things that make pvp endless good times!

Back when I used to play a lot, only reason I would do crucible is because I knew I was better than most people I would encounter. Don't get it twisted, I've gotten stomped something fierce in crucible, but for the most part I've rarely come across many players that can outplay, outsmart or outgun me. would I lose a lot of games, yea, burden of a solo player for the most part unless my friends played with me which they suck ass as well. So I would go on the forums and find out which gun everyone was bitching about the most, I'd grab that gun and go into crucible and wreck shop and piss people off. I would play until I would receive 10 messages at least about how much of a bitch I was. Which was so hilarious to me to see actual people get so worked up and butthurt about a virtual world. So yea basically the only reason I played was to use the most op gun and make people cry. Then come to the forums and read new posts with brand new fresh tears.

As incredibly unbalanced as the Crucible is, it can actually be fun at times.

Two reasons I play PvP: 1) Achievements / Trophies 2) Grimoire I hate crucible, but it's literally the only thing I need to do to get a complete Grimoire score.

To be honest..... I only play the weekly shaxx bounties,iron banna and sometimes trials for the bounties,I only play for the rewards,I play pvp in the hope to get a good gun for PVE It's sometimes fun but when you play 7 elimination games and everyone is hard scoping with a sniper,even my other teammates i.....t is not fun for me

I generally stick to Clash and Control, but I play PVP to show off my beautiful year one Iron Banner armor, drop buckets of orbs for my blueberry allies, get legendary marks, farm three of coins, flash emotes at enemies from within my Ward of Dawn, and fire at them from behind the armor plating of my Fabian Strategy. I'm just an average player, but I have fun (most of the time).

I started playing it when it was still fun... now I play periodically in hopes it will once again, be fun. I've been holding my breath for far too long now. Lol. Maybe it will be good again in D2?!

The crucible specific loot that is VERY good for PvE. Other than that, I really don't like the Crucible. It is the most unbalanced gameplay I've ever seen.

I only played 49 games and then said this dlc is terrible. Edit. Don't hate me I didn't bother to read the wall of words.

Because it's more fun playing against human players than AI Bots.

Only thing that gets me is map size and lag. Besides that, PVP can be fun.

I used love pvp in y1, just played it for fun, but in y2 after all these nerfs i rarely play pvp anymore and when i play its just to get gear (IB and ToO) :/ (btw im from battlefield and i hope other players from bf are not the ones calling for nerfs :D)

I play it because it's different. I wish the devs would go more crazy with their designs, but I've mained a Titan since Alpha and have had a blast since. Each update brings buffs, nerfs, bugs, but one day the devs will get it just right.

I played because it was fun, year one pvp was fantastic, the glory days. Blink was a menace and the pace of the game was fast, maps didnt suck and the odds of finding a bunch of camping hardscopers was basically 0. Now its just lag, more lag, matchmaking times that feel like they last longer than a match, hardscopers around every corner and every subclass feels like they got shoved into a cage. The game still feels good to play but it has gone downhill since ttk released. Pvp is more frustration than joy these days. It kind of sucks.

Pvp is shit compared to what it used to be especially with SBMM and some unwarranted nerfs. I only play to complete my shax bounties and if anyone hits me up for a trials run. Speaking of trials, the whole obsession with ELO has ruined it. So many elitists now. People have changed and think they're pvp gods because of those stats. It's not really fun anymore. Oh yeah and iron banner which drops some good loot now.

There used to be this thing called "fun." But it has long since left the crucible...

A simple answer: Weekly sterling treasure. That's it. For me, its nothing but a lag fest that leads to nothing but salt, nerfs, and reasons to stop playing.

Because competitive PvP is what I always play since the arcade days single player and strikes get extremely boring to me fast

Because at some point there is nothing else to do in the game.
