So yesterday I was cooking toast in the bath when I saw somebody post this picture on Facebook.
And I honestly don't understand why.
I think my calculators broken cause this shit doesn't add up.
Let alone that they start out with a straw man argument(I can honestly say I've never seen a pro-life person say "abortion is bad because the baby could find the cure for cancer"), but the rebuttals to the argument are atrocious, filled with more falsehoods and assumptions.
Just because somebody is pro-choice, doesn't mean they're automatically racist. Dumb argument.
Yes, obesity is not healthy. Dumb argument.
Surprisingly enough, just because somebody is pro-life does not mean they hate poor people(I'm assuming this straw man is supposed to be right wing, so they're saying conservatives don't like poor people. When statistics say opposite. Conservative areas tend to give much more to charity than liberal areas in the US.

The point about police? Pretty sure most police are good people, and just because somebody is pro-life doesn't mean they support police brutality.
And I think the last argument is supposed to be about gun control? But it's a stupid argument so I can't even assess it.
Then we get to the final paragraph, which is just pure stupidity.
For one to believe that misogyny, capitalism, or ableism is halting progress of science, that individual would have to be blinded by emotions, rather than using rational thought.
Anyways, just thought I'd share this wonderful piece of knowledge.
I am, under most circumstances, pro-choice.
1 답변It's crap like this that makes me rethink my position on eugenics. I'm about to the point that the govt should sponsor voluntary sterilization. Seriously. Rather than taxpayers funding abortions, like liberals want, just put forward voluntary, reversable sterilization programs with some small incentives (more welfare, tax incentives, etc.) for people who shouldn't be reproducing (those who are riddled with genetic problems, those who can't afford childcare, etc.). If they want to have kids later, they have to pay for a reversal of the surgery.

1 답변If you're -blam!- you can abort. If you're pregnant because you're stupid you can't abort. That's how I see it, and every stupid bitch or teen girl that is pregnant because she was too dumb is human filth to me.

That's why we have stupid people, smart people, and average people. All humans have free will. Some use it to their advantage, some use it to destroy themselves. So arguing about what choices other people make solves nothing. Unless it directly involves you or your loved ones, then emotions get involved. That makes it challenging. Point is use a condom or don't argue when you do knock her up. Same goes to the ladies.

They do it with tattoo discrimination and other shit too. But it's just a dumb Facebook photo people share around

5 답변I think you should only have the option to abort your child if it could kill you or hurt you if born. Otherwise, everyone wants to adopt a newborn.

2 답변작성자: Spooky Doggo 6/26/2016 10:15:04 PM
What if the cure to cancer lies in the mind of someone who gets pregnant in a state where abortion is illegal, and had to drop out of school to raise a child?
1: If they were smart enough to cure cancer, they wouldn't be getting pregnant in the middle of college. 2: If they were smart enough to cure cancer, they should be smart enough to raise a child and go to school. Plenty of people do it. 3: Why does unwanted pregnancy take priority over all the other potential "cancer-curers." (e.g. starvation is listed after). 4: Is an abortion really going to enable this woman to then cure cancer? 5: Do these people think a single person will single handedly cure cancer? With no help. And having a baby will single handedly stop this. Entirely. 6: If you're not responsible enough to raise a child, how can you be responsible enough to cure cancer.

2 답변This is fake. They called them a "fat person". A real feminist would call them "plus size".
(I can honestly say I've never seen a pro-life person say "abortion is bad because the baby could find the cure for cancer")
I've seen plenty of people here say something along those lines in the many abortion threads that have come and gone. This forum isn't exactly a bastion of intelligent arguments, but still, it is an argument people use. That Facebook post is pretty dumb though.
