Petition To Make Rise of Iron Rated "M"
What made Halo so great? Destiny is great, but an M rating would make it so much better. It would give the developers and story writers more creative licence. Levels with darker themes would create a powerful contrast between "the darkness" vs "the light". Correct me if I am wrong.

It means the game can have a level of psychological maturity otherwise closed off to something trying to fit within a "T" content range. 45 답변the difference between a "T" rating and an "M" rating, story-telling wise, is excessive swearing, nudity, and gore. you dont NEED an "M" rating to tackle some "mature" themes. what CAN they explore that they cant because of the "T" rating? hive are evil as fudge 'cuz they are literalizing the "might makes right" argument by reverse-genocide (killing everything EXCEPT one race: themselves). when it comes to "target audience" age/maturity segregation, it mostly falls into three categories: -marketable to kids: the kind of things that children of all ages can consume, with no swearing, erotic material, violence, or the direct (and sometimes indirect) reference to death what-so-ever. -marketable to adults: basically, it directly references, or features, drugs, sexuality, and/or violence. -general audience: the in-between. this is something that could POSSIBLY be OK for SOME youngins, or only slightly references the subject matter restricted from the kids, without stepping into the adult material. this is where destiny lies. Destinys material is "T" because thats exactly where it needs to be. light v darkness is about the principal philosophies, properly represented with villians that represent a fundamentally opposing view, aka "kill" (hive), "steal" (fallen), "conquest" (cabal), "apathy" (vex). none of these factions need more gore to get their point across (are the skelingtons not enough to show how ruthless and violent they are?). none need sex or drugs either, because temptation and seduction can be platonicly represented, just look at Alak-hul, or Toland, or Osiris. Dregen-Yor was seduced by the temptation of power and betrayed his principals (as a guardian) to do so. theres just no point, is what im saying.

1 답변'M' stands for mommy bought it for me :P nah, but really, it attracts 10 year old's like a freaking magnet. I would love a deeper, more immersive and serious game, but at the cost of a community that is (whether you like it or not) one of the better communities out there, I'm just not sure eh?

1 답변I would play the game either way, but why should it be rated M? Destiny is fine the way it is because we don't go deep into the story of the game. And I don't think that the reason we don't go deep into the story is just because of the rating. If we DID go deep into the story, however, I would agree with an M rating. Because I would imagine going into grittier environments like the City after an attack or more emotion in cutscenes. Unless they change the way they tell the story in D2, it should stay rated T.

From our perspective it seems stupid, but many (if not most) developers would be happy to get a T rating. Other than games like Call of Duty and Battlefield.

1 답변Parents are mostly the problem here tho. I have met kids that have been raised right and had nothing but respect to those older then them or more wise in game. Most of those you meet arent like that tho. Parents should teach there kids to not act like gangsters. And punish there kids if they dont have respect and things like that. But thats just my opinion.

Actually an M rating does imply that the game contains graphic violence, sexual themes (not suggestive themes), graphic language, or use of drugs/alcohol. One or more of these is usually an automatic M rating, with a few exceptions on language and violence.

3 답변Thinking about it tho, Halo and Destiny (they are completely different games) are the same in terms of the "graphic" content. The only thing is probably a few curse words, more realistic guns, and a little pool of blood underneath a Spartan. If anything, present day Halo would be rated T

Its extensive lore already shows it can be competant with the rating its at. Bumping up to M, despite your claim, would ultimately just allow adult vocabulary and slightly more graphic scenes, and you know it would only utilize it in this aspect. A silly rating isnt polishing anythingo[/spoiler] -blam!- nevermind you got me, I'll go back home on our vast flat earth now

I think that must be revised with examples, just to make a mention can be gore, which is something many games rely into, sex...I can't relally think how can that fit into the game notin that there are few characters a even fewer females (but the guys of rule34 may prove me wrong), violence...well this is a game about killing stuff so, the violence theme returns us to the gore, bad languaje maybe?, if you can hear all the players in a crucible match that can be a point...so what would you expect from a "darker" theme?
