Does anyone choose gear/weapons based off of looks?
I like the look of the eyasluna and happen to have two of them with excellent rolls. I have one for pve and one for pvp. I also love the invective, bad juju, Haakons hatchet, pretty much all of New Monarchy, the Soulstealers Claw (which has still eluded me), harrowed quillims, Hardlight, Red death and of course Gjallarhorn . I wish there was a "Gjallarhorn skin for all of he weapons.
Please share if you're u are in the same mindset or love the look of any in particular weapon.
Edit 1: HOLY $#!%. Got on this morning and saw 100+ replies! Thanks folks, time to start reading. Glad to see I'm not the only Fashion Fighter out there.
Edit 2:I never did tell you what I like for my gear.
Titan: all spectar if possible with yellow chroma and vallesgarde shader and dead orbit exotic class mark.
Warlock: if I wear vallesgarde (it has really good solid black on warlocks) I wear one of two extic chest pieces ( usually the one with two fusion grenades but sometimes sun breaker gauntlets) and/or new monarchy chest. Everything is black and yellow with yellow chroma.
I also like midday with my warlock with green chroma gear and ram helmet.
Hunter: void flayer cloak armor is a bit random and queens web shader. Can also use Krokos shader and another purple one I forgot the name of.
Edit 3: I see some folks who prefer stats before style (which is understandable) but the nice thing about trying to achieve both is it definitely gives you something more to strive for. This game has come a long way from when it launched and the amount of customization is superb. Anyone remember when we all looked [u]exactly the same[/u] in order to achieve appropriate light level? That sucked. It was like showing up to o prom in the same dress (at least I imagine it is lol!)

Yeah I do it with gear mostly, ppl joke but since chroma. I see a LOT of ppl that do it. I rarely see ppl in the tower with chroma that doesn't match. I hate that we have more chroma cuz I love the orange but only had one piece. Its sad I'm actually thinking of buy sliver to try to get orange chroma

To some extent yes, I like Red Death because aesthetically I dont like bullpup designs on guns, but I do like burst fire weapons, so with Red Death I get to keep using my favorite category of primary while having a more appealing look.

I used to always wear a blue Cormorant Line chest piece, even in hard mode raids since I liked how it looked. It would always confused people who checked my gear. Some people would give me shit about it, until I informed them that it was they, not I, who were causing the wipes.

I absolutely adore the looks of the Häkke Tamar-D, but its twin, the Aoife Rua-D has more ammo in reserves and marginally more favorable stats. I hate choosing between children. Armor, on the other hand, is pretty much all based on what looks cool together. This chest looks better than the other, and also happens to have sniper ammo? Perfect! Same with a lot of Hunter exotics, they all kinda have eh perks so I'll sometimes use the knucklehead radar just because it looks awesome... And also because I like my radar...

I have finally reached a point, where I can take looks into consideration again. Chroma is a different story, though, as some might look good on one piece of gear but horrible on another. Whoever decided, that you cannot check, how it looks, before you apply it, should be fired IMO. Combine that with the fact, that more different colours decrease the chance to get what you want, it actually seems like a system to sell more sterling treasures... I stock them in my vault at the moment, to have enough of each colour, when the new gear arrives with RoI. By the way: I miss the VoG warlock helmet, was the best ever made IMO, not to mention the year 1 IB robe. Regarding weapons, I'd say, that we definitely need shaders here as well; the Hakke beige is sooo boring. There are a lot of rare weapons, that look much better.

5 답변I've said since year one that this game should implement a style system like that of DC universe online. In that game as long as you had found a style you could equip that style while having a different set of gear on. Would be a great addition I think.

12 답변My Titan actually chose his current autorifle (the one Challenge of Elders weapon he's managed to get) in part because it goes with his outfit. On the other hand, though my Hunter is very into her New Monarchy look (complete with exotic NM cloak and red/white shader), she hasn't found a NM primary that she really likes. Matter of fact, she's currently maining a (*shudder*) Hung Jury. Executor Hideo must be doing a facepalm right now...
