Neither was shadestep. Imo. An evasive maneuver can't be over "powered" as it doesn't even hurt or kill you.
Shoulder charge alone is ok, but the way it's being so grossly over used IS the problem. It's drawing too much negative attention.
As promised, we kept an eye on Warlocks after the previous patch. Sunsingers, while not out performing other classes, are still creating frustrating encounters.
And shoulder charge isn't frustrating? It's time is coming, just wait.
This sets a dangerous precedence. Bungie has now proven, with the sunsinger's nerf, that they will nerf NOT because it's necessary, but just because frustrated players bitch loud enough.
So, your argument saying that shoulder charge isn't OP is moot. It doesn't matter anymore. ALL that matters is, are players over using it and drawing too much negative attention? You titan players over using shoulder charge IS drawing too much negative attention. Enjoy it while it lasts.
Btw, you had wrote that:
It's getting annoying. It's not OP.
Deal with it.
Sorry for ya, but shadestep was annoying and it got nerfed. Shoulder charge may not be op, but it's annoying. So when it gets nerfed, deal with it.
Bungie has now proven, with the sunsinger's nerf, that they will nerf NOT because it's necessary, but just because frustrated players bitch loud enough.
don't forget Gunslingers.. we got nerfed cause of an Exotic Gauntlet. Bungie " Hunters seem to be using twice as many tripmines now WTF?" Janitor @ Bungie " that's cause of the Spines guys " Bungie " go dump that trash can. Now where were we? ohh yeah nerf those -blam!-ing knives too"

The gunslinger's nerfs was such bs. The throwing knife, I get that they may not like that it's a ranged attack, but it can't OHK anyone with full heath. It's range is limited by velocity and drop over distance (which, btw, is one of the few ranged attacks where drop is in effect. Lord knows there ain't no bullet drop, lucky for snipers). So pre-patch, it can't ohk, even if you manage to lead a strafing target successfully, adjust for drop, and still hit the f*cking target. if you can do all that, you deserve the damage. F*ck, even a head hit with it wasn't a ohk. I don't see why it needed a damage nerf. The trip mines, ok, I get it was supposed to be a trap. That's like walking up to a bear and putting the bear trap on it's foot. Ok, I get it. But if it's a trap then treat it like Battlefield does laser mines. It's permenant. A single, thin, laser beam that fades over distance, not completely opaque, and it stays where it's placed unless 1 of 3 things happen: 1) it kills a target 2) it's shot and destroyed 3) the player places a new mine, voiding the previous causing it to disappear. But death or time DOES NOT cause its termination.

작성자: ZenrithAuren 6/22/2016 2:16:31 PMHonestly. The length of time the firebolt grenade burn effect could last for was far too long. It wasn't just that it's annoying, but you're vulnerable for far too long which IS a balance issue. What should happen, is that you take a lot of damage in a short period of time so your shield doesn't take forever to regenerate. The area of effect of firebolt grenades could be debated but the distance which it could travel did seem a bit too far for a grenade that is seeking. As for shadestep, it wasn't just 'annoying' but provided the class with the ability to evade almost nonstop which wasn't 'balanced'. The fact that you can use two consecutive shadesteps... made absolutely no sense whatsoever given how effective a single shadestep is. While shoulder charge requires that you have to sprint for a time and it can wear off before you reach your target! You can use shadestep at any time and use it twice in a row. You can't use shoulder charge twice in a row 'like that', it takes time to charge up another and an enemy may not be in range for you to use it. Not to mention how it can be countered by anything and everything... I seriously doubt they would touch it as they aren't only nerfing things based on how annoying they are. Especially the smoke grenade. That shit was ridiculous. You get stuck in it and you take forever to get out of it while you take massive damage in the process and they can throw ANOTHER ONE AT YOU. That wasn't just annoying.... It was broken.

Opinions vary. Although I see your burn pov, I was willing to accept and deal with it. It is, what it is. Shadestepping constantly, again, I can see your pov but it didn't hurt or kill you. Didn't affect your kd. Didn't give points to the other team. Bungie didn't nerf fire bolt in the patch prior to this recent one. In this last one they flat admitted it:
As promised, we kept an eye on Warlocks after the previous patch. Sunsingers, while not out performing other classes, are still creating frustrating encounters.
"...while not out performing other classes..." OP is out performing. "...creating frustrating encounters." That's reason for the nerf. Not the burn. The frustration. My point is, you may feel the nerfs were necessary, I was of the mind to let it all go to avoid a class war. But now we have a flood of nerf posts because basically it boils down to the philosophy: "f*ck with my shit, I'll f*ck with yours." Within the next 3 months we'll see how it all plays out. Just remember the quote, bungie admitted the reason for the sunsinger's nerf was "...creating frustrating encounters." And players aren't frustrated with shoulder charge? Are they not vocal? I can smell the winds of nerf coming. Lol

Well said indeed. I'd say shoulder charge is definitely the most 'obnoxious' thing in the game just now. And obnoxious is the main reason for nerfs now. I actually don't mind it, but now my trip mines don't kill anybody so the traps I set are now rendered useless by headless Titans running around shouldering. The lock on is ridiculous though.
