The sunsinger subclass got it's strength from its grenades and melees, and you utterly destroyed that. Their super is so situational it can be considered mediocre
Firebolts: Firebolts weren't OP, people just assumed they were OP because everyone just followed what datto and other youtubers/streamers said. Firebolts (DoT in general) isn't OP, the only reason it felt OP is because it was a slow and agonizing death. What people failed to realize that DoT did the damage over time instead of instantaneously, if I were to chunk a flashbang/skip grenade/lightning grenade at you before an encounter you would die instantly once I land my shot and the grenades tag/pop. Where as the firebolts killed you over time, the DoT gave you a chance to retaliate and kill you opponent if by any chance they couldn't land two/three shots in succession. This is another reason people felt it was OP because they felt like they shouldn't die after winning a gun fight, but they fail to understand that if that was any other grenade they wouldn't have a chance to kill you in the first place. And I'm pretty sure streamers felt it was OP because firebolts were one of the best counter measures to their favorite play style;;chill in the back with a sniper.
If someone kills you with three shots from hawkmoon, you say "well at least i wasnt two shot" and you move on. But if someone hits you three times with a dot, and you die 4 seconds later, you lose your shit
- Natmos The Great
Another reason why people complained about firebolts was "it kept you out of the fight for x amount of seconds."Although true, you still have a chance to recover and get back in the fight, usually whenever I would get tagged by a fb I would run back and my teammates would cover me, I'd get my health back and everything would be dandy. Whereas if I was to tag you with tripmine/sticky/incendiary grenade you'd be out the fight for good until your teammates could res you. One thing you couldv'e done bungie was increase the damage per tick but reduce the amount of ticks, that way it'll do the same amount of damage but in less time.
Flame shield: The flame shield would already only sometimes proc, now with the .3 second delay you made it to where the SS would lose all melee encounters, since they have the slowest melee in the game. The flame shield wasn't even all that strong after the april update, if a titan was to land the first punch in an encounter the SS would either lose or trade in that fight. The only class that couldn't win in a melee fight even if they landed the first punch was a hunter, which honestly in my opinion was fine since hunters were the fastest/nimblest little creatures. They shouldn't have power and speed. What people didn't realize that if you would use the sealed arhamkars grasp you could beat a warlock in a melee fight because you'd have two blink strikes instead of one. People also complained about, "you get a shield without having to get a kill," like really? I have to get in slapping distance in order to hit you, just back up and shoot me if you see a warlock coming at you. Simple. People fail to realize that titans also have the juggernaut shield, which is extremely fun to use by the way. You don't even have to get within slapping distance with it, just run in a small circle and you good.
Your explanation for the nerf was priceless,
Sunsingers, while not out performing other classes, are still creating frustrating encounters
Basically you're saying that SS weren't out performing other classes, but because people were complaining and crying you decided to nerf them. You know what is outperforming things and creating frustrating encounters bungie? Snipers bungie, snipers. So with your logic I expect a sniper nerf. Just a simple one, nerf sniper movement speed/swap time/ ads sight, a similar nerf to what you did to shotguns.
Edit: Bungie, you should've just decreased the amount of ticks but increased the damage per tick, that way it did the same amount of damage but in less time. You also could've reduced the radius of it like you did. Simple. No delay of explosion or what not. The melee was fine after the april update honestly.

7 답변Has anyone also noticed that solar grenades aren't doing as much damage as they used to in PvP.

A lot of people are saying (now sunsinger is a support class) 1: If Bungie wanted it to be more of a support class, they should do this: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/207337962?sort=0&page=0 2: The new viking funeral is bugged 3: Even if it wasn't bugged, it still would suck because people don't burn long enough to use it. Bump.

5 답변작성자: Angelis101 6/23/2016 10:14:55 AMAs much as I agree with the Sunsinger portion. I don't agree with the sniper portion. It's really easy to avoid the popular sniper spots and get in close. Especially with how popular party crasher and Conspiracy theory are. (Seeing as you get a perfect roll CT from a quest line) I see just as many shotguns as I do snipers. And sniping takes a good bit more effort than walking up to somebody with a boom stick.

2 답변They shouldn't have nerfed Viking Funeral. I agree with you though. Sunsingers hadn't changed at all from year one, and weren't overpowered in year one, but suddenly now they are overpowered? That doesn't make any sense.

3 답변작성자: Angelis101 6/20/2016 12:33:23 PMYou forgot the part where they said "it was causing some frustrating situations". Let's talk about frustrating situations. Titans juggernaut shield they got for free while running. Get to your favce with a shotgun or slam you're entire team. Running from a skip grenade around 3 corners and it still catches up to you and kills you. Wombo combo every 30 seconds. Nightstalkers dodging out of every tracking grenade imaginable. The burn nerf isn't to terribly bad. But it also made our meelee super sub par. We used to be able to trade a lot but now we can't. I think the biggest reason that it got hit was that it was multi-target. A well placed firebolt could put 3 people out of the fight fairly quickly and cause some interesting situations. I think that was the real issue. But now... it hits 3 targets for about 125 damage after burn, but that's IF it hits. It was already easy to dodge for nightstalker and you could get away from it pretty easily too. That tracking nerf s the real issue. It didn't need both nerfs. Either the tracking OR the burn. Either way. Our super is such garbage now that it hurts. Firebolts gave our super killing potential. Now... it doesn't have anything aside from a fully charged meelee strike or 2 grenades that might hit the target. They just run away or the rise animation gives people enough time to line up a shot and kill us before we move. It's pretty bad. I'm about to swap to hunter because voidwalker is useless against nightstalkers.

Basically bungie is f*cking everyone over. They ruined hammers, even though they needed a nerf, Bungie absolutely destroyed it making it useless, for months until the recent update I believe? Sunsingers didn't really need a nerf, firebolts maybe but flame shield delay? Really? So stupid. Blade is just being hounded upon with every single update, this was the original subclass that made me create a hunter but now my hunter just feels like trash. Gunslinger, recently picked it up during the April Update, been using it in Iron Banner and normal PvP, it was fun to use because of the throwing knives, I'm not bothered about the trip mine tweaks but they still killed this subclass too. To be honest, Bungie is killing their game with every patch they release. 1.0 to 2.0 was bad. Leading up to every patch 2.2.0 and 2.3.0, weapons doing less damage, increasing time to kill, subclasses being useless and taking away the abilities that made players fall in love with them? Such as blink, firebolts, flame shield, arc bolt and so on. I don't even know who to blame, Bungie for nerfing all these things and essentially killing the game in a slow process or those countless tw*ts who keep crying nerf to every damn thing they get killed by? Honestly, the only ones who want something to be nerfed, are those who get outplayed and killed by it. Fair enough, thorn, ram, doctrine and some others needed to be nerfed but now everything that seems to finally be good is being destroyed and rendered useless. Seriously Bungie, stop nerfing everything, please.

작성자: Erijian 6/21/2016 11:17:10 AMTo me it feels like Bungie rushed out these Sunsinger changes, with little thought I might add, in order to appease the vocal minority that went apeshit after Bungie left Sunsingers for the most part untouched in the April Update.

작성자: goldstarlestelle 6/20/2016 10:06:54 PMExcellent. It's funny how Bungie thinks what they say justifies things. But they shot themselves in the foot. Imo frustrating and outclassing are two completly different things. You don't nerf or redesign a whole perk because someone was frustrated. You do that because of something being unfairly powerful. Hey when I do play PvP I get frustrated that I land more shots then the other person but I die? So nerf everything.

작성자: TautSkydiver0 6/20/2016 11:41:24 PMBungie didn't shit the bed, they shitted ON sun singers because of little cry babies who can't adapt of their life depended on it. The only thing SS had was Viking funeral, and now it's gone. Sunsingers are now the worst subclass to use because of crybaby bitches who blame the game for them dying. I just hope to god the crybabies don't go near my Voidwalker or striker Titan.

I completely stop using warlocks because of that its dumb radiance has always been a weaker super because anything could shut it down people don't realize that so without the viking funeral its basically no reason to use it

5 답변I only had enough mental strength to read the first paragraph. So il comment on that. Firebolts werent a slow and agonizing death. if you were shot exactly 1/6 of your total health, which is equal to 33 points of damage. Firebolts were enough to kill. So essentially one shot from a medium impact or higher pulse rifle and a firebolt would kill a max armor build with 200 health.

10 답변So there's a lot of debate on this issue, and I get that, and if I'm fully disclosing my bias, I have to say I loved using firebolt, and I'm sad to see them go, but I'll adapt. But it was not op in the least. You couldn't hit people behind walls, and it was easy to evade. Sometimes it wasn't, but sometimes all you had to do was step back or run away. That seems fair to me. But nerfing one thing just makes another thing stronger. And if the the arguments that dot is cheap, (although it totally isn't, it's just damage dealt, over time) and firebolt was op, resonates with you, you should consider axion bolts and skip grenades as equally cheap, in that they follow you across the f*cking map, and require the same things to evade: backing up or running away. So no, your argument is invalid. The problem is that cry-crys want there to be a master race, they want no balance, they just want to win. All the time. And if they don't, they feel cheated, and there must be something wrong with the game. But feeling cheated doesn't mean you actually were cheated, and as bungie said, SS's weren't outperforming other classes in any meaningful way. So let's just call this what it is: a bunch of butthurt crybabies, complaing long enough, and loud enough, so that the entire game gets changed to suit their butthurt, crybaby, playstyle. ... Discuss?

1 답변작성자: sharkhunter81 6/18/2016 4:08:03 PMBump this shit^ Totally agree and agree with their logic behind the nerf as flawed and ignorant at best. "Because it was frustrating for players?" Because truevanguard always talked about how he didn't like them and wanted them nerfed. I've watched every one of his videos and am a subscriber. I won't be for long. I choose not to support any of these streamer guys. If it's them they want to cater to, then -blam!- em. They killed off sun singers in every way. There was no need for any shield nerf and could've nerfed the nades in a manner that didn't take you out of the fight so long, but still made them viable. They literally said "what works on is class? Ok let's break it all" that'll fix everything. You were wrong. You just made us realize that you still have no idea what your doing and it emphasizes the fact that you must not actually play this game enough to know what's really needed and not. Whatever. I'm just done with these -blam!-in people.

Preach!!! PvP in any freaking game is suppose to be a frustrating encounter. They destroyed a bad ass ( not OP in ANYWAY AT ALL per Bungie) sub class all because whiny people can't deal with it. I mean how can something be OP without out performing the other subclasses?? Being Over Powered means that it out performs everything else and Bungie strait up said themselves that their data showed Sun Singer was NOT OUT PREFORMING other subclasses. Poor effort. Return Sun Singer Warlocks. #notbrokendontfixit

작성자: Seraph 6/18/2016 6:46:07 PMI'm agreeing with you for 2 reasons. First, I'm a strictly PVE player so I don't give a crap how Sunsinger's perform in PVP. Second, Radiance is the most boring Super in the whole entire game. Here, activate your Super, get a slight defence boost and throw 4 or 5 grenades. No wonder so many Sunsinger's stick with the 'Fireborn' perk in PVE and never, ever use their Super, because it does not feel 'SUPER' enough. And then Bungie compromises its ability to throw repeatedly throw grenades that might have a bit of range. Sunsinger's are 100% built on defence and grenades, that's the only point to frigging class.

1 답변I do not agree with creates frustrating encounters. That can apply to every subclass. Even Defender. Getting hit by suppression grenades is frustrating. A group of them dropping bubbles back to back to back is frustrating. Doesnt mean u nerf a class cause of that.
