Been on these forums a lot recently, so i know i should probably state this before talking about microsoft: yes, i'm a ps4 gamer. My love for some sony titles doesn't mean i dislike microsoft. Just looking to hear some opinions.
During their E3 show, microsoft has been announcing all their games as coming to PC too. My question: doesn't this only take away selling points of the xbox? Don't get me wrong, as a ps4 and pc gamer, i have no complaints on it at all.
With xbox being behind in sales to the ps4, isn't this rather counter-productive? If someone has a decent pc, what should convince them to buy a xbox? All i got from this show is the confirmation that i don't need a One this gen.
Are they just going for more sales on their games as opposed to selling more consoles? I'm trying to see microsofts logic behind this. What do you guys think on this?
Ps. No fanboyism please. I've tried to stay as neutral as possible in my post.

6 답변I'm confused. Is it gonna be like Sony's cross play where your vita, mac, or pc is like a virtual machine...? Or... Wat?

8 답변I think it's a smart move on their part. Would be even more so if it worked in reverse, and let you play any game on your pc through your xbox, even if it's not an Xbox game

2 답변On the contrary. A large amount of players who own both play with different crowds. Console with those friends who can't afford a powerful PC, and on PC with those who can. This way said player doesn't have to buy the game twice. Honestly it instigates console sales because of this. "What I save on multiple games, I can use to buy (PC/console)."

4 답변I actually think it's a smart move on two fronts. One being that PC sales haven't been that great and this is a way to boost those sales as well as to gain support from the tech industry for Windows 10. The other is that Microsoft is betting that developers who make games for PCs will want to build games for the Xbox too, and it's providing a set of tools called the Universal Windows Platform so developers can build games for both console and PC at the same time. It's basically a brilliant way for Microsoft to corner the PC market. In other words, it will no longer be a "war" between consoles. It will be a war between Xbox+PC and Sony. Furthermore, as I type this out another thought occurred. We know that Microsoft proposed a cross-platform solution with Sony. IMO, Microsoft knew Sony would decline because Microsoft had declined a similar proposal from Sony a while back. So when the Xbox/PC takes over, they'll be able to say, "see we tried letting you guys in on this but you declined". They'll still be able to look good in the end. Sneaky sneaky.

I can see where you're going but i'm not sure how well it'll work out. You're going to have some players take advantage that it's easier to aim on pc than on console. It's an interesting idea and i would love to see how it plays out but i plan on sticking with my xbox.

5 답변작성자: Neilius Maximus 6/15/2016 7:03:21 AMBecause Microsoft has windows and xbox, why would they care which one you purchase? It's all about bringing the gaming community together with more options. If you want a console, play the games on console, if you want to play it on pc, play it on pc. Doesn't matter if they hurt xbox sales when they'll sell more games and give players the option of which to play it on. I think it's a fantastic idea.

2 답변They are trying to turn Xbox into pretty much a gaming PC brand. It's a slow process but chances are the next gen "Xbox" it's pretty much going to be a gaming pc "console" much like the Alienware Alpha or other steamboxes. MS knows console gaming is dying and is trying to get in position to capitalize on the industry shift when it happens. Xbox Play Anywhere and the Xbox One "Scorpio" seem to be the first big stepping stones towards that goal.

4 답변I dont get ps and xbox exclusives at all if you'd go out of your way to buy the other console for a single game then thats probably why they do it
-
The way I see it: MS doesn't need you to buy their consoles anymore. They get $$$ from game sales either way. They also happen to make Windows 10. So a PC sale or an Xbox sale is all good for them. This can go one of two ways: 1. People buy a PS4 to complement their PC for exclusives. 2. People buy an XB1 to complement their PC so they have two systems to play their games on. While option 1 is appealing for hardcore gamers, option 2 would seem better for a casual gamer. With cross network play coming in between PC and XB1 at a rapid rate in the next year or two, option 2 might even be compelling for hardcore gamers. Microsoft isn't gonna push something that will cost them money. They got this!

1 답변I have my love for xbox, but it seems Microsoft took the L with this generation. The PS4 did much better in terms of everything, really. They're moving from the traditional console generation system and are making a PC-ish device for play across various platforms. This could be a big win for them later on, but who knows. As long as i can still use my X1 for a bit, ill be happy

Well for a start Xbox is more of an extra for Microsoft, they don't really need a console unlike with Sony and especially Nintendo As far as what they are trying to do goes it's essentially gaming anywhere, lets say you have an office space at your home if you were to get bored you can play a game then later when the living room is free you can jump on the X1 there

It's their plan to encourage more win10 installs & sell more 1st party games, thus increasing the playerbase to their attempt to get crossplatplay with pc going. I've visited windows store once since i upgraded from win7. It's not very popular at all atm. They're not forcing 3rd party developers to get along with that, cuphead is in though, among couple other games. This is what my brain picked up, when some dude from m$, was in gamespot stage talking about these things.

Remember when the Xbox One was announced it was going to be always on, permanently online, digital games with disc copies locked to your account so no second hand market or lending to friends you could log onto any console and play your collection. Then Microsoft did a U-turn when Sony announced the PS4 would be more "traditional" console. Well I think this is Microsoft way of trying to being back that idea.

작성자: ABeardedViking 6/15/2016 1:38:45 AMIt's sales for MS either way. I have a coworker who is a huge PC player. He said he wouldn't get an Xbox one but with this feature can get gears of war 4 and be able to play with his friend that has an Xbox one
