Hello fellow guardians. I have been watching and reading the comments on the forum for some time now. I see how it is unfair to the legacy consoles and how it is unfair for the current gen. I really get both sides. However I wanted to tell you a story.
Once, I bought a video game. It was really really fun and I played it with my friends all the time. About halfway into the game I was given a message saying that in order to get the next update for the game I needed the next console and a new copy of the game. I was so upset about this as many others were. I never got the next console, but I do know that it destroyed the game and it's community. Now I can see destiny is going down a similar path.
We are all destroying what I call, a family. Sure, we don't always get along and we don't sleep under the same roof. But we all share one thing in common, the love for the game. We don't need to fight each other. We all started the destiny adventure together, we all paid the same for the game. We ALL deserve to finish destiny TOGETHER.
But if not, The Rise of Iron will destroy the destiny family, one console at a time. It's really your choice, you can say what you believe in. But Bungie will do it again to the ps4 and the Xbox one in the future.
If there is anything I want you to take away from this, it is that we are a family and families shouldn't be broken. We all started the adventure together, there is no reason why we can't finish it together.

Ok, let's all just recap and realize something - Ps4 released November 15th 2013 - Xbox One released November 22nd 2013 - Destiny released September 9th 2014 Technically people have had over 2 1/2 years to save up for and acquire a ps4 or Xbox one. 2 1/2 YEARS. (i.e. Hell, just take $200 from each of your tax returns an set it aside) Furthermore, it is common knowledge that a game that came out on both current and old gen consoles, those games would and SHOULD move to the new consoles format to best optimize the game experience for the players that shelled out the cash for a new console and experiences. By keeping this game on an older console, bungie is literally limiting itself from a developmental standpoint. If that continues more of the new gen dedicated players actually will leave. So I pose this question to anyone that thinks that this game should stay on current and old gen consoles: Is it fair to the people that actually worked hard for their new consoles to have their game play hindered because bungie should make the game compatible with outdated technology? Is it fair to bungie as a company that wants to make this game as great as it can be, by staying behind the times?
in case you're wondering, the answer is: NOOOOO
20 답변It will be a sad day on the release of the new DLC bexause a lot of people istead of celebrating the new adventures with their friends will be crying that they lost them to the next gen console and basically it looks like to me that with what will happen on that day is basically wasting over 300 bucks to buy somethiing you already have without your progress being moved over. I do not mind not having destiny 2 but i believe that they really should have released the last chapter of the story for us too. Whoever reads this will probably say that it is a smart move or that last gen consoles are not supported but that is just bexause they have a next gen console and do not really care about people who are stuck in last gen. I just hope that bungie might bring us our final year of destiny after a while but that is not gonna happen :( RIP last gen :'(

The last gen consoles are 10 years old, built on technology that wasn't cutting edge. Really, the last gen can't show the animation of the ToM,they can't handle it. It is a big limitation. What more would they have to cut, sacrifice, change to continue dragging old tech along? This day was coming. The last gen time is drawing to a complete close.

12 답변Your complaining about 10% of the players of Destiny. Frankly, I upgraded to Xbox one right before Destiny dropped, and the likelihood is that I'll need to upgrade to the "Scorpio" when D2 drops. I'm a one income family, so I'll have to start saving next year in preparation. Reality is, legacy console players knew the day would come when they would be left behind (myself included). It's your choice whether you continue your journey and persevere through this minor setback, not Bungie's. If you truly feel like part of a family, then ask for help if you can't afford to upgrade. Otherwise figure it out, you have a few months before the journeys officially separate.

5 답변Except losing the whopping 10% of the player base that resides on legacy consoles won't destroy the game, sooo...

1 답변Well the community went down the shithole when it started. Only thing that keeps it up are the awesome ninjas.

I understand the disappointment but in reality old gen is 10+ years old It would be like saying modern games should still be playable on a ps2 or original xbox. Technology advances as does gaming and its requirements. Staying with old gen would hold the franchise back unfortunately.

2 답변"Bungie will do it to ps4 and xbox one in the future" as will every game company moving to ps4 and xbox one now. It isn't just bungie doing this, it's everyone. Wanna know why? Because that's where the money is. Like it or not, companies need to make money to keep pumping out games that you guys feel so entitled to. They can't make money if they are spending time and resources to make the game or dlc for a near dead console to please the 10% of the player base who have had 3 years to save for a new console. $10 a week everyone. That's all it takes if you save and you can buy yourself a new console in a few months time. If you haven't done that already, then maybe gaming isn't a big enough priority for you to be complaining about.

While I personally am excited to see how destiny can grow without last gen, I still feel like it is a strange decision to do it now. They may be practicing current gen exclusive development for destiny 2. But odds are that bungie made a deal with with sony and microsoft to get as many people to buy the original current gen before the price drops too much with the announcement of the new ones. I feel for last gen and hope to see as many of you stay with destiny as possible. I know that not everyone can afford to, I know I couldn't if I didn't already have current gen, but hopefully some of you will be able to stick around. And as for progress in game, you can transfer that over, so theres at least that silver lining...

1 답변Get a ps4/Xbone. By the time it comes out they will probably have a deal running on it. If you can't buy it outright go to rent a center and pay like $15 a week for it.

16 답변-blam!- legacy consoles there so old and holding destiny back also people die in families so everyday family's are broken you ducking legacy console ALSO who even plays destiny anymore? If they add next gen only consoles only like 2 people will be upset because you cant get a raid wich will drop cum
-
6 답변Yeah but i don't consider people who play destiny on xbox360 and ps3 to be human beings so how were we "family"? If losing 360 and ps3 fans is what you think will kill Destiny, you have your whole blueprint messed up. Bungie is the only thing that can kill Destiny. We all know how great a game Destiny can be and also we know how boring and dead it can be when they just lack in so many areas.

16 답변I'm gonna point out that when rise of iron is due to come out would've been the slot where destiny 2 would've been released, which would have always removed the old generation of consoles
