I know Destiny is not an MMO. It's a shared world shooter as Bungie has phrased it; it is an FPS with RPG elements in it.
However, if I'm being real, nearly every time I think of an improvement I would like to see added to the game, it turns Destiny more and more into an MMO:
1 open world
2 general skilltrees and deeper subclass skilltrees
3 meaningful npc's
4 pvp combat zones in the open world
5 item crafting (shaders, chroma, weapon/armor blueprints, etc..)
6 deeper in game story
7 customizable player bases
8 more factions/better faction involvement
9 meaningful choices
10 reward for sticking to a particular subclass longer (also for sticking w/faction)
11 greater (quality and quantity) loot from random mobs
12 secret quests and areas
13 customizable and functional jumpships
14 More Raids/relevant old raids
15 Great Character Creation/Post-Customizability
16 More Classes/Subclasses and Races
Maybe I'm totally off. I know I'm missing a lot of stuff on this list, but this is the stuff relevant to this topic that I could think of.
What do you guys think about Destiny 2 being a current gen FPSMMORPG?
This is assuming dedicated servers, better dev tools, and all else needed to undertake the project are a thing (and I realize that may not be the case, hence the hypothetical).
thought of this as I watched Black Desert Online gameplay which is rumored to come out for PS4 someday and is heavy on RNG, even more so than Destiny
EDIT:
Though I would love Destiny becoming much more MMO-like in various aspects of the game, I'd have to say that I wouldn't like Destiny to ever not be casual friendly. Open worlds should have fast travels, raids should have in game lfg/optional matchmaking, crafting should be basic and cosmetic yet fun.

9 답변As long as Destiny 2 is one on the PS4 and Xbone I'll be happy. Last gen consoles (the 360 and PS3) are long gone. Sorry to those who still play on those consoles.

I've been saying this since 2014. However, the game continues to cater to the PvP crowd. Bungie should put a team on making an MMOFPS, while their Crucible team makes a PvP-only game. Both sides of this game could use some real attention, without the other side affecting it, and two games just seems like the best route to that.

1 답변Some good stuff on that list and a bunch of it will possibly or even likely end up in the game, although meaningful choices of everything on the list stands out to me as doubtful. By meaningful choices I presume you mean choice driven story like bioware is famous for, if so I don't see that being a route Bungie will go. I'm sure they intend to tell a better story with Destiny 2 but doing that and a choice driven story in a persistent online world that is built around multiplayer would be incredibly difficult to do well.

I want more living enviorments. It would be awsome to see some wildlife or npc villages scattered around the planets. Just imagine doing a quest for a sweeper bot on mars. :P Fetch me 500 brooms Guardian! I've got work to do! :P

1 답변This game should have a monthly subscription if people really want their feedback to have any real impact. The dev team is so small it takes way too much time to get anything done.

God, the moment I hear about Destiny 2 is causing my body to become more hype and jump around on bed like 2-year-old. I'm very excited to see more of the story and I hope Bungie will deliver us with some rich and deeper story. I also hope Bungie will offer us some book to read! I've been dying to get my hand on Destiny book since day one and they still haven't done that. Ugh. Hope it won't take long.

1 답변작성자: Psyko_Dad 5/22/2016 7:42:14 PMI wish it was a proper FPS MMO. I actually thought it would be, pre-release. Wouldn't mind paying for a subscription fee, unless support would be as shit as it is so far.

Would be great, but not sure the MMO thing fits... I personally can't think of an efficient way to get more than a 4-player co-op for most missions, but that has been done since Halo 3 anyway so even if we raised the number from 3 to 4 (for most content), it still wouldn't be ground breaking.
