what i would do is have a consumable for each element that we can purchase.
but to keep people from always having a constant burn on their primaries:
-they last 10 minutes,
-have a 10 minute cooldown after the one in use has expired (to keep from having multiple burns in use at the same time)
-they will not be cheap (to keep players from having too many)
-they could be bought from xur for 60 coins to get a random bundle of 2.
-they could be sold at the gunsmith for 70 motes for 1 item, but you can choose which burn and they are always available.
-upon rank up with gunsmith you get a guaranteed random burn item in the package.
i know that sounds strict in the usage and ways to get them but its all about balance.
you dont always NEED a primary burn, but when you do need it just choose wisely and make your shots count.
edit 1
remember: nothing in this game requires a specific class, subclass, weapon or armor. however certain situations are easier with a specific class, subclass, weapon or armor.
there should be equal parts of supply, demand, and accessibility to keep the game economy fresh. i say a stack of 3 for each burn item for each character, plus another stack of each to be stored in the vault is plenty. if you dont want to use the burn item or dont need it then consume it for 500 gunsmith rep.
there will never be a way to implement a primary burn system to please everyone, including the way these weapons were in y1. personally i dont have a preference to having them or not but i believe my system does cater to those who do and dont want the primary burns.
edit 2
nice to see so many comments and opinions of primary burns! keep it coming!
also here is another modification to my system:
it only applies to legendary primaries. using it on exotics would be fun no doubt, but it would be too OP. however, there no denying the fun of a void burn hawkmoon on a void burn nightfall :D

2 답변Burn Consumables - yes time limit - no excessive economy usage to acquire - no just have it like chroma but use like 10 legendary marks with glimmer to reset for different burn.

Why not just go along with the idea that's been floating around for ages, a one time consumable that places an element on your weapon of choice. Because to be frank, 60 sc's for a 10 min weapon mod is way too steep.

1 답변A burn that wears off, not a bad idea, reminds me of how you have to enchant your weapons in ESO, eventually the enchantment wears out and you have to apply a new one. The main gripe about primary weapons with burns was that it made only a handful of primary guns viable for PvE, I would think the easy solution to that is that all primaries could be infused with a burn, maybe a temporary one like you are suggesting. Of course right now it doesn't really matter. The current PvE content is already very easy without primary weapons having elemental damage.

8 답변Sorry didn't read any of it. Just wanted to say they have fixed elemental primaries, they got rid of them. Legendary ones anyway. Makes for a lot more variety and has brought some balance to pve.

9 답변작성자: mojoo j0j0 5/22/2016 8:48:55 PMelemental primaries. lol wtf is a burn primary? can you not spell elemental? Not to hate but I do not like your idea. just bring em back. I never did understand why everybody thought they were OP. PvE is easy anyway, and the raid hardly has shielded enemies . "but you can blow through nightfall easily" who cares I blow through it anyways. It's not like we get radiant light , so no one really cares about nightfall anymore. If it's really that big of deal just buff fresh troops. ELEMENTAL PRIMARIES (lol) wen't downhill when Trials first came out and the light house gave out primaries and randomly rolled the element. So all the pvp players had it easy and more options when it came to PvE. The PvE players were stuck with specific elements to a specific weapon type . i.e. you couldn't get a solar fate bringer or a void oversoul edict. This proved to be unfair for PvE players especially when elemental primaries didn't matter in PvP. The light house should of gave out weapons and gear with PvP specific perks and no elemental primaries. In conclusion, the new raid should drop primaries with a random elemental roll like year one trials did. Trials should only give gear with pvp specific perks. Thanks for bringing this to light

1 답변"We are removing elemental primaries to compensate for the lack of diversity in endgame PvE" *All anyone uses is Hung Jury, Imago Loop, and Smite of Merain* -Congrats, you just played yourself

1 답변They already have a system, with the colour node on the new weapons, just use something similar, but the elemental drops are only from hard mode raid bosses......

1 답변Or ya could just keep playing without them. They aren't needed for anything. Those of you who continue to come up with "ideas" for them are just plain annoying. We get it you need the crutch of a primary with burn to help you through the game. Get over it already, Bungie took them out and have shown no intention of bringing them back. Quit beating a dead horse. They're gone, end of story. Move on.

5 답변Primaries with burns were never a problem in year 1. Just go back to the year 1 system. By the time HOW came out I had a much more varied load out then I do right now.

I like the idea but 60 coins or 70 motes is just WAY too much. I hardly make 60 in 2 months. Maybe glimmer like 20k per burn or 25k for 2 random burns pack, so this way there would be reason to farm glimmer and spend them other than for fusing.
