When I'm very sleep deprived and on the verge of passing out, I begin to perceive reality as if I were playing a video game.
I think of other people as characters and NPCs. If I think about closing a door, I imagine that I need to press an action button. If it's too bright in my room due to a tv or the lights being on, I try to figure out where the brightness settings are. Locations are perceived as levels. Things that I know I need to do, such as taking out the trash for example, are perceived as objectives and I try to find the marker that tells me where to go.
All of that makes sense to me at the time as it's happening. The only thing about it that confuses me is why I can't find the brightness settings or why I'm lying in bed instead of playing.
So I'm at a restaurant and I saw some suspicious people down below and my first thought was to pull out my sniper and get a closer look. Needless to say this is the first time all day I haven't been on Playstation.
