Good for you! I've got 4, working on 5. It's a serious grind but I would have it already if I didn't use my Hunter so much. What I do is turn in motes every day, build my coins for the week and when Xur arrives I buy heavy ammo. Usually about 500 packs a weekend. Then I do all the bounties for each day. Rinse and repeat. I think it'd be faster to run strikes though...

Watched the video, I believe weapon parts turn in is worth 50 rep and heavy ammo is 25 rep. 1250 for 25 weapon parts is the better deal than 950 for 1 heavy ammo synth, so you should buy weapon parts from the gunsmith.
