Shotgunning isn't "Easy": Anyone claiming this is a bit lost
Yes. Aiming the gun is easy
Yes. The range can be annoying
Yes. Almost anyone can use it effectively from day 1
But being a GOOD shotgunner isn't easy. Top tier shot gun players have immense skills in movement, pressuring opponents, and split second decision making.
I'm not defending shotgunners because I am one. Most people who know me, know that I snipe 99% of games. But it's kind of bullshit to discredit the skill set of another player.
I personally find using shotguns effectively very hard due to my passive nature, so when people make the statement that they take "no skill"... well I must just suck really bad. Right?
Watch the video, actually listen to my argument, then debate it all you want.

Or what other game can you get an easy kill streak with a shotgun? There isn't one is there. Destiny should have been called crutch.

As much as i like shotgunning... I have to say that its become somewhat bothersome now. A lot of the perks for shotguns aren't the best and all the nerfs done to the weapon type(especially handling speed for me) have made me gag a little lol. I still use them in all activities but i am definitely trying other alternatives in the meantime.*shrugs* what can ya do?

I love it. Despite who makes the post we still have retards saying it's easy and bash like there's no tomorrow. It's a play stile. You either know how or you don't. That doesn't make it a scrub tactic. I loved blink shotgun era. I now use it in close maps. Interesting how rare shot guns are in trials. Yet all this kids keep crying that they can't get to the light house. Mtashed hats of to you my friend.

Took me much longer to learn how to snipe, rather than to learn how to shotgun. I can use a shotgun and get kills but it's boring, because there's not much strategy and skill required. Also, the game gives you a god roll shot gun right when you start playing (Conspiracy Theory-D), which was horrible game design by Bungie IMO.

I'm more successful with shotguns as opposed to snipers, wish the opposite was true. I love when im at a choke point and I see a red blip on my radar, throw a scatter nade in the vicinity of the enemy, they coming booking it around into my shotgun-tehee XD

1 답변Killing someone with 1 is, closing the gap and getting away after the kill effectively or taking out more than one opponent, thats where the skill part is.

Every weapon takes using some kind of skill even shotguns as well. I will admit they are not easy for everyone and they do cause you to put yourself at risk more often at close quarters, more than other weapons. One thing i dont like about shotguns currently is that they are more unrealistic than their opposite counterpart (snipers). A sniper can kill you in one shot accross the map but a shotgun blast to the face or center mass head to head can still leave you alive. We all know that a shotgun blast face to face will leave you mangled and dead. This kind of imbalance in my opinion shows that a fix is needed to buff shotguns and also shows how devs at bungie are biased towards nerfing shotguns. They must all prefer snipers...

I also think there is a difference between using your shotgun for a immediate close combat situation compared to rushing in and never using your primary. I love shotgunning, and it does take skill just like sniping does. But don't abuse it.

Agreed. Shotguninning is tough, I definitely prefer to snipe. MTashed, my buddy and I played 3-4 games of skirmish with you a while back. Had a couple good snipe battles. Shotgunners were getting smoked in those games.

If you can shotgun effectively in the 3 v 3 playlists your are probably a good shotgun user. It is all about the movement skills. There are bad shotgun players just like there are bad snipers. A sniper may laugh when they kill a shotgun user with their primary by backing up. I personally think it is hilarious when I kill a sniper with my pulse rifle as they miss me three times.

Most of the time I think you bring up some good points, Mike, but... Just shut up, man. You didn't say you were required to be a good shotgunner, and the simple fact is that the shotgun is by far the easiest weapon to do average with.
