Remember when Division was going to kill Destiny?
How well did that go? I literally haven't heard anything else about it from anywhere since April. It's far behind Destiny on Twitch as well
Btw, not bad-mouthing the game because I haven't played it. It's just that so many people came to the forums talking down because we play Destiny & that Division was better in every way yet hasn't survived long.

It was...until it committed seppuku. The developers' method of fixing rampant glitches via player punishment, and the eventual realization that Massive really didn't have an end-game, or post-launch strategy aside from being behind the curve is what eventually killed The Division.

Division is boring now... The incursion is a joke.. Practically impossible with randoms on hard mode and challenge is impossible with randoms. You need people you know... And I'm not willing to put the time in. I'm glad i glitched lots of my gear the first week it was out. I find my self going back to destiny and still bored. I don't raid at all now and have gotten 335.. Without the raid. Thanks to 30C

5 답변Destiny killed itself, no other game needs to do that lol. And plus those ppl if smart and are gamers they enjoying division as I am as well. I'm still on destiny too, and dark souls 3 and today uncharted 4. P.S. Threads like this are even worse than the ones who post this game killed destiny

It has a few, very specific things about it that I enjoy more so than anything I've done in Destiny, but this is me and I wouldn't expect most gamers to enjoy those things as much as I do. As for Twitch. Most of the big names that were streaming the Division when it launched, Goth, Broman, etc, brought with them a few thousand viewers each broadcast. Since the April Incursion update, most of those large Broadcasters have either A) stopped playing of B) playing sparingly. Likewise, Destiny is a far more enjoyable game to watch if you're into that sort of thing.

7 답변Just because YOU'RE still playing that doesn't mean the player count hasn't decreased. No game killed Destiny. Bungie/Activision's shitty marketing ethics is what's killing Destiny. From personal experience, I have had 11-15 pages of people playing Destiny, now it barely hits 2 pages. Don't be in denial, Destiny's player base has definitely decreased significantly.

Patch 1.1 is no different than the Dark Below.... the changes to the game and frustration of that caused people to leave. But at least The Division so far has been free. While empty, The Division had potential before they rolled out the 1.1 update. Similar to how Destiny had potential as an empty shell of a game that we bought for $60. Vanilla Destiny had 1 raid, had 6 strikes..... but repetitive daily missions, repetitive nightfalls (basically the strikes again), weekly heroic strike and a weekly lockout on gear. Then when TDB came out, it changed our old gear to be "useless" (remember people wanting the Fatebringer to come back?), made an artificially difficult raid by having level 33 enemies in the hard raid when we were level 32, had an end game exploit (pulling the cord on Crota), had an overpowered PvP gun (Thorn) and needed to alter the landscape of shotguns and heavy ammo dropping in PvP. The Division has very similar issues, except they have far more bugs. They have far more perks that are broken (although how many people remember Hammer Forged on Felwinter?). They have an exploit for endgame, and they have people stacking up on gear for the Dark Zone to make them incredibly powerful. These are all things Destiny went through with the TDB... and we PAID for that! Personally, I played The Division, had fun in the first month.... but the 1.1 update with gear scores and never ending grind for equipment made me lose interest. Same way people stopped playing TDB when it released never came back to Destiny. YET, Destiny fixed their issues. And The Division will most likely fix their issues. It needs and overhaul, and if it they improve the game, people will go back.

I'm equally disappointed with both, but I'll still say I dropped the Division faster than I did Destiny. In the end though, at least I could get back into Destiny.

2 답변The Division started out so well. I loved it. Then the terrible end game incursions came along (God they suck) with a terrible gear score system and a ridiculous hike in material cost for crafting blueprints. Also, their PvP is completely unbalanced and broken and not even worth playing with no meaningful drops and where teams of asshole players will kill you for no good reason other than to grief players. They are doing another update later this month to address some of these issues. If they don't fix things then i'm out for good. Really disappointed, the game actually had really good potential. But it seems to have fallen apart. Hopeful they get their shit together.

작성자: Appelfeller42 5/9/2016 9:39:42 PMNot surprised, although I check this morning Uncharted 4 is almost at 700,000 preorders... I thought that was a pretty big feat! The top seller this year thus far is Ratchet and Clank with almost 400,000 total. Uncharted already beat that by a long shot! Not saying it will smoke destiny but I think more people will at least have a second game to play.
