Hey community, just wanted to get your opinion on this as well. I am a hand cannon user and have loved them from the beginning but nothing drives me more nuts than hand cannon phantom bullets.
If you use a hand cannon then you know what I mean. You land that perfect first shot and then either your second, third or fourth shot just plan misses even though your gun is aimed straight at his head or chest.
I feel like hand cannons are close but I really feel like this need to be addressed. I forget Bungie's exact wording but it's something to the extent of taking your time with each shot. I'm sorry but that's not possible when you have people running around with guns like DoP that can mow you down almost immediately. With a hand cannon I don't have time to steady each shot to ensure it hits in these instances.
I don't mind losing a gun fight but it drives me nuts when I lose a fight that I clearly would have won had that last bullet registered.
What do you guys think?

작성자: Goku 5/2/2016 8:31:07 AMHow do I vote this up on my phone? Hand cannons aren't rewarding at any distance anymore after the blanket nerfs they did to address hawk moon and thorn. Scout rifles are better at close range and hit for almost the same on body shots. Literally most scout rifles have the same ttk more ammo and better accuracy than handcannons. They both fail in comparison to pulse rifles and auto rifles. They even fail against side arms and shotguns have better accuracy and range. Not only that, but they are awful pve too because of the nerfs... they were my favorite weapon. My vault had god rolls on every one year 1 and even into year two. After the nerfs, I disassembled all of them.

10 답변I didn't read all the replies. So somebody might have already ask this. If this bloom is the cause of bullets not hitting. What is the point in having a full auto hand cannon? Do only HC have this bloom affect? Then why can a HROF AR be so accurate? Shouldn't they have to be fired in bursts too? So the bloom can reset. Anyways I'm going to go find a wall in PvE and test this out. So if this bloom is the reason for phantom bullets. I should have three shots hit the wall in totally different areas. The gun could act different in PvP though. Somebody also mention having a really good game and then a crappie one. Playing against the same team. I believe this because it happens to me all the time. I don't know how they do it, but I think it has something to do with the 50/50 w/l ratio. So they make shots disappear. What better way can you think of to make you lose that game. Oh as for the top tier players hitting all their shots. It is probably because they are playing trials where the 50/50 rule doesn't exist. Just my thoughts. Oh if anybody tries the wall thing let me know how it works out.

작성자: HyperVigiIant 5/2/2016 8:15:09 AMBungie likes to encourage players to spend their whole life grinding for the ideal weapon so they can nerf it and make you grind for the next best thing. It's their way of keeping you playing without adding new weapons regularly.

12 답변Started using HC's again. Sort of a revival movement of times of the FateBringer and Thorn. I trust my shots will miss more than hit. A complete reversal in logic! However, I no longer trust Bungie to make appropriate changes. For example: Handcannon usage peaked, so they made them inaccurate, increased damage drop off, decreased range and, essentially, turned them into novelties. That was what these, learned programmers, thought would 'balance' the category. I would love to meet their kids. "Hey Joey, nice job getting that A, now, to be fair to the others in your class, your books will now be soaked in water, your pencil have its core removed, and your absentee card filled in 50% of the school year. We think that's fair so the other kids have a chance at an A too"! "Thanks dad, now my friends that don't go to school can get an A too"!

1 답변HCs need an accuracy buff. I'm not an expert on the game's mechanics and I know accuracy, target acquisition and range are all interdependent, but they need to fix the accuracy NOW. Make it similar to autos where the gun actually hits where you shoot it, but suffers from damage reduction outside of range. Make it heavy damage reduction if you're worried about it over performing again. But as it is now, HCs are just a way of handicapping yourself.

1 답변Can you provide video of these HC performance issues, including the actual HC build and some of your firefight scenarios where the accuracy seems to be an issue?

3 답변This happened to me so many times, i thought it was just me but this needs to be addressed. DoP is an overused gun that has time to kill less than that of a sniper headshot.

1 답변Best handcannon for a mix of stability and range is easily Eyasluna I've seen people with that gun break 60 range(which really helps with PBS) aswell as maintain 50+ stability(you don't have to pace as much). I love my Imago Loop but the stability means I have to pace my shots and sometimes that can get me killed in a 1v1 firefight. That's why I carry Plan C with me.

13 답변To be fair, I'm not sure these "Phantom Bullets" actually exist. If you watch some of the top players in Destiny's PvP community, most of them use Hawkmoon or Last Word, and I never see them be afflicted by "Phantom Bullets". Just earlier today, in Trials, I went against a man who landed every single Hawkmoon shot no matter what, not a single bullet landed but didn't register. I feel like this whole "Phantom Bullet" thing was a fabrication created to justify missing when you thought the bullet should have landed.

Yeah it seems to me that the Hawkmoon suffers from this issue the most out of all the hand cannons. The First Curse seems to consistently land its shots, so I use that and nothing more when it comes to handcannons.

2 답변My first Legendary was Lord High Fixer way back in 2014 and have used them for everything since. PVE these days my Imago Loop with Firefly and Rangefinder is all I need. This Iron Banner I gave Hawkmoon a run out and it has been like the old days. I am on Xbox so I didn't get to enjoy it in its glory days. I can finaly compete and win. Though as you say it can be squarely aimed at a head and all that I do us create a silouete of the enemy on the wall behind?

What do you guys think?
Couldn't agree more. I don't usually get upset while playing PvP, but I am using The First Curse almost religiously now and I'm realizing how hand cannons perform. I found myself just questioning as to why my bullet didn't register, multiple times. At least, at the very least, twice a game. If this hit detection is resolved, hand cannons will be in a great place again.
