There's not too many, but yes. Hand cannons are a good counter. But they undoubtedly take the most skill to use. You can't just spam it, you have to really control the recoil if you want to kill people fast. The most popular archetype is the Eyasluna-type hand cannon, which is my favorite. It takes 1 headshot+2 bodies to kill any full health player. right now Omolon hand cannons are very accurate and powerful if you can get your hands on one w. A good roll. My Vanity is one of my favorite guns in the game. Last Word also outguns doctrine. It actually kills faster with body shots than doctrine does with headshots. Grasp of Malok is also a very effective weapon to use against Doctrine. I'd say this is probably your best bet...anyone can farm it, & it's extremely good. Especially if you actually get your hands on a good roll. the shit melts. Praedyth's Timepiece is the same archetype also, so you could use that in regular crucible. No IB/Trials though unfortunately. I know it's not much but those are a couple weapons that can regularly win against Doctrine users provided that you land your shots. I personally use hand cannons & pulse rifles. The Vanity, Eyasluna, Finalla's Peril, Imago Loop, Hawksaw, PDX-45. I probably use Hawksaw/PDX the most. Those are my go-to primaries for most maps. But they're tough to outgun doctrine with if you're close range. It's possible if you land all headshots though, definitely a challenge. but I do outgun doctrines all the time so it does work. Good luck. I hope you find something you're comfortable with friend. & you don't have to go flawless in order to get a Doctrine. You can complete the bounties, which I don't even think you need to win matches to do. Gold tier could drop doctrine, which you can do the gold tier bounty every day of trials once. You also get a weapon at 7 wins now, totally random, so there's that too. then obviously if you make it to the lighthouse you've yet another chance to get one. There's lots of opportunities for players to get trials loot without going to the lighthouse. Lighthouse just rewards players with possible 335 stuff, as opposed to 330.

Close range engagements are tough against this weapon, but to be honest, that is how it should be. Surox PDX/Hawksaw/Grasp at mid range, scouts at a distance. Fusion rifles are also good against it, as they are very effective within it's effective range.

Mida is still a sniping scout. Very deadly. Kills me everyday
