Gonna make this short.
Microtransactions and DLC have been the biggest hatred of Gamers since the dawn of "robbing gamers of their money by under-handed tactics" was invented.
Every few months, Bungie and Activision push closer and closer to Pay To Win, or Pay To Advantage. And every few months, the hatred for Eververse Purchasers continue to rise.
A lot of people think they are cool, and supportive because they spent 20 to 50 dollars on Sterling Treasure to get Full Taken and/or Full Spektar.
But in reality, both on the forums, and in-game, they are getting murdered socially for helping in the greed and brutality of Bungie and Activision making the game come ever more near to hand-over-fork microtransactions.
What are your thoughts, forum?

4 답변작성자: Dabest 4/26/2016 12:14:37 PMWe didn't have to pay for the April update because of them. I'm ok with that. And anyways, you get 3 a week, free!

작성자: Zjura 4/26/2016 3:27:10 PMThe armor is just rehashed year 1 armor that glows. The only unique thing that came out of this whole thing was the taken armor. This is by far the worst update. At least I was smart enough not to spend more money on a game I already bought. I only spent $60 total on this game.

4 답변작성자: shirley timple 4/25/2016 5:15:51 PMAs an xbox player that never plays pvp, I'm actually relishing the opportunity to make the try hard pvp and ps4 content creators squirm. Every time I buy silver, I think of console exclusives that I can't yet get and my beloved year 1 guns that were nerfed and left behind because of PVP. I consider microtransactions a way to get back at the crowd that ruins so much of the game for the sake of their own ego and snowflake status. You scared that someone with better gear is going to win? Glad I could help that happen. Come at me

작성자: jareids 4/24/2016 5:01:46 PMHere's some added simplicity for why it's hurting the game. Micros are obviously much cheaper to to develop than real, quality content If they start making greater profits from micros, from a business perspective, it only makes sense to start prioritizing finding new ways to charge us through micros, rather than focusing on developing new content. And you all know this will happen because, this is Activision we're talking about.

I don't see how any of it currently helps a player other than vanity appearance You have to have the item(s) in the first place to infuse into the vanity gear to make it useful (give it stats like intellect/Disc/strength) and subsequent items to infuse it to even higher light. if you are like me and don't care about appearances, you just use whatever has combo of highest light/best stats Would be different if they were selling gear that offered a functional advantage like higher than normal stats and/or instant max light it isn't like World of Tanks where you are going to get completely smoked by players willing to shell out real $ for premium ammo/tanks/etc....

If you think you have the right to tell me what to do with my money, you don't. Why don't you just admit that your butt hurt because others spend money to get the cosmetic items that you want but don't want to spend money on. I buy silver when the mood strikes. Full set of desolate armor on all three characters (only the hunter wears it), both ships, the sparrow, chroma for days and Rep boosters to rank up. All of it is obtainable in game with no silver purchase. I had money I could spend on silver (because I didn't waste money on the division) so I did. Don't like it? Cry me a river.

Hurting.... They made almost like 1 billion dollars already in lifetime sales. The sole meaning of a business his existence is to keep making more money even if not needed...just to have a reason, a goal.. Look at Nintendo. The can make losses for over 100 years before they will go bankrupt but still are in the business to make more money out of cheap dated hardware... Like yeahhh destiny 1 made so much profit, now they have even more money before the development just to keep the numbers rolling in... With the money activison and Bungie already earned the can make 5 destiny's

3 답변작성자: ShizRizGrizDiz 4/24/2016 12:19:23 AMSigh, i hate having to say this all the time BUT..... Welcome to the new era of gaming. Where you can play with others in active, online servers. Want those servers to keep running so you can keep playing your favorite game with other people? Well, the constantly ran servers need to be funded somehow. How do they get funded? Through microtransactions! Welcome to online gaming. Where the gaming can only continue via two ways. The company makes continuous revenue through either, you know, Microtransactions OR the other thing you all also seem to hate, SUBSCRIPTIONS! You people just seem to want everything free these days, but thats not how it works. A company cant just keep a game running for free. They have to pay to keep everything running. So again, thats why things like Micros exist. Ever notice how games that dont have online support dont have micros? Thats because theyre not needing to keep online connected servers constantly running.

Everybody needs to watch the South Park episode on micro transactions, it will enlighten you so much into seeing what micro transactions are doing to the entirety of gaming. Think about how old WoW is(and I know it's subscription based, which is still a superior model to micro transact) and how in reality no game has really come close to creating a larger and better WoW since then even though technology and programming has evolved and improved so much. It's because more and more game designers go for the money, which is in creating a mildly decent game that gets a lot better when you spend additional money into it, which builds an addiction to that spending money to continue to get ahead or get what you want. When it comes to micro transactions: JUST SAY NO!

-cut from my other post.- what if food shopping worked like this ? willing to buy a pizza ? 10 bucks. deal. hey want dlc frys/soda ? sure. hey want some toppings ? yeah... your pizza is good enough on its own I can spice it up at my pace. pizza like desnty... here's your pizza! hey.... this is only half at E3 -cogh- I mean your sign outside said one whole pizza. nah you gotta buy the pizza pass to get everything and you won't get that till next week anyway. I don't even like these toppings... this isn't even the same pizza ? oh we removed the cheeze so you could have more sause... but. shut up or you can't have frys. oh... sorry frys are only for Sony card members. well -blam!-. 2 years later nothing but topping sales on half pizzas that don't even taste as good as before. why ? because pizza shop guy made money, he made more money on toppings then he ever did frys or slices. why make anything but toppings ?

7 답변These are my thoughts. There are no rights or wrongs. However and for all microtransaction supporters please hear me. Bungie making a LARGER profit on microtransactions than on actual DLC/expansion/game content will only lead to the development of more microtransaction content. So if you are cool with dev teams spending precious little time on creating things to sell to you for silver rather than DLC/expansion/game content. Then please keep buying and using silver. If you are not. Please stop buying it.

12 답변The problem with silver is that people buy it saying it is supporting the game when that in fact is not the case. Think of it like a clothing retailer, you go in to buy some shirts and the salesperson helping you recommends some cologne/perfume to get as well. They do that because the company doesn't make that much money on the shirts you bought, but the smaller accessory items have a huge margin. The same is true with silver, it isn't going into Bungie's pocket to support the game. That is what the initial game/dlc sales are for. Silver is going towards the bottom line so that when Activision has an earnings call with it's shareholders they can show Destiny making a certain profit.

It doesn't hurt anyone but the game itself. I have no issues with people buying cosmetic gear (kinda dumb when it's "end game" gear though). My issue with micro transactions is that Bungie has been slowly adding more and more to it. Clearly making it more prominent, and the question is, when will it stop? Compare Eververse now to what it was like when it was first introduced. Money talks. No matter how much forum hate or whatever goes around, if they are making more money than DLC packs from micro transactions, it will continue and only get bigger. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Destiny 1 went free to play when Destiny 2 comes out. Also I think time would have been much better spend working on a smaller dlc pack, than SRL and Crimson doubles, which aren't even permanent.
