I see it on these forums all the time.
Person A: *says anything*
Person B (who disagrees but can't coherently articulate his feelings): Your KD sucks, kid.
That's not how you argue, just saying.
EDIT: This game is hella casual. Who cares about KD in Destiny?
EDIT 2: FoMan123 gave a brilliant response. Check it out below. Also, we're trending.
EDIT 3: To those commenting on my K/D, which is admittedly negative, you have missed the point entirely. Bad stats in this game don't matter. Good stats don't matter. Only one thing matters: fun. This is not my opinion; this is the way the game was made. It was designed for and marketed to casual players. Anyone who treats it like, CSGO, per say, is delusional.

I like to camp :) i get hate mail 13-21 messages a day on how much my camping pisses them off. Im just a fan of seeing Mark Of The Unbroken on my characters. I also like seeing my kd higher than anyones. I dont care about being at top or bottom. Im not perfect. But im a gamer and thats what i enjoy. Play for what gives you fun and ignore the rest. Its not like they bought or gave you the game so who are they to decide anyway. Keep having fun on whatever you do and learn to laugh at the hate mail

2 답변Noticed this guy is getting chewed up for his KD. Mine is 1.73 as of right now and still climbing often. So, why do I agree? KD, ELO, etc are all slight indicators of skill, but hey by no means paint the player as good or bad. Yes a guy with 2 KD will inevitably be better than the kid with a 1 KD; however smaller gaps are irrelevant. In a game like this where pub stomping was/is a thing for so long and the matchmaking system can be exploited so heavily to "develop" your stats, they should count for very little. Many players I know delete characters constantly to make a new one to gain a better KD. No better in terms of skill, just better stats. So if KD and ELO are awful skill indicators. Why should they ever be used as an example to win an argument? That has no logical sense, which ironically is probably why the KD argument is being used.

104 답변You're right. K/D ratio ad hominem attacks have been the second most common logical fallacy committed on these forums since the Halo 2 days and stat tracking in console FPS games began. However, the most common fallacy, by a mile, is the anecdotal fallacy (i.e., using a personal experience or an isolated example instead of sound reasoning or compelling evidence), which is the typical method of argument used to start a debate in these forums. For example, "I was killed by this weapon 6 times in one game and therefore it needs to be nerfed." Neither is justifiable. In fact, attacking another user's argument based on their stats used to actually be against the rules, since it is such a distracting and pointless way to attack another person's opinion. But we've learned that these fallacies are not going away anytime soon. Even in this thread, I see people trying to justify why a K/D ratio ad hominem attack can be appropriate if not sometimes, then all the time -- it's completely wrong, of course, but there's no point in debating with them. These fallacies work on this forum because they're provocative and they make other people feel like they have to respond. Which they always do. But history has proven over and over again that the best defense on internet forums against logical fallacies is to ignore them. If see an opinion based on anecdotes rather than logic, reason, and/or evidence, ignore it. And if someone responds to your well-reasoned argument with an attack on your stats, let them shout into the wind. Problem solved.

1 답변작성자: lowresolution666 4/22/2016 5:04:19 AMOn the subject of stats PVPer act like someone insulted their MOM ( no offence ). I have been saying this to people for so long that do not judge anyone by their KDs / ELOs or whatsoever ! . Caring too much about your precious KD (leaving matches / abusing your team mates / rage quitting due to a bad game) won`t yield anything. I am an average PVPer myself but i don`t judge people by their KD. Its all about having fun, i would prefer to play with a person having 0.5 kd rather then someone who is constantly whining / shouting having a 2kd !!. I have found the people ranging from 1 - 1.2 /1.3 Kd the most fun to play with . People with 2 kd alway ask you " why don`t you have TLW / DOP / Thorn equipped ? " OR " Why are you using Defiance of Yasim in Trials " Personal experience after playing over 4k games.

3 답변As a fairly strong pvp player I always miss out on having good teammates because of my kd... There's a local therapy group in my town that uses PS4's to help students with autism. I grew up around kids with autism because my mother was a speech therapist. so I felt the need to volunteer my PSN account for these kids to use. Helping communication through completing raids, doing trials etc. so it kind of sucks when people won't let me join because of my KD. But I wouldn't change a thing
