I was pretty pleased to see Control come up as the rotation this month's IB, but about 6 matches later that feeling has been vanquished. You see, I like the more objective based PVP modes since I'm not that great at shooting other players, but I can get sh*t done and that includes capturing points. However, such an approach is ruined when scrubs go into the matches just looking for kills and seem blithely unaware or apathetic of the fact that the more zones you control, the higher your score.
I have literally just come from a match where my "team" were purposely hanging back from Zone B and trying to treat it as a killzone, which is a sound strategy WHEN THAT ZONE IS UNDER YOUR CONTROL, but pure idiocy when it isn't! The amount of times there 3-4 players in a position to charge the zone and did absolutely nothing was staggering, and the other team were just lapping up the points as they had perpetual control of 2 zones for the entirety. This also leads me to believe that many players haven't figured out that winning matches earns you rep as well.
I really think the bounties of IB need to be more representative of the game type you're actually playing, e.g. capturing a certain amount of points within a match/day/week. If all the bounties remain entirely kill based, then IB might as well be permanently set to Clash.
Anyone else feeling similarly deflated by this?

It isn't designed to be fun its a challenge a b.s challenge of meta multitools doctrines and last words and storm callers that can melee you from across the map plus all the lag its a game mode from hell i got a 320 helmet tho so thats nice

I haven't had this problem myself but I agree that the bounties need to be representative of the game mode. Some suggestions Bungie: Get 3 b-line medals. Cap 5 points. Get 3 defensive kills while protecting a zone. Get a kill streak while your team holds 2 control points. The list goes on...

작성자: sharkhunter81 4/1/2016 6:33:21 PMI agree with you 100%. I've had the exact thing happen with b flag and numerous groups that had no intention of capping a flag, but when the bounties call for kills and not game objective based accomplishments, this is what you get. Every time I grab those bounties I look for on that has to do with capping flags, but nope. Just precision kills, primary kills and kills with grenades or something. I actually started screen-shorting the score card at the end of the games. I capped 7 and the other 5 teammates together maybe has that many combined. Bunch of 0's and 1's. It's frustrating.

1 답변I feel your pain, Rift (shudder) required more teamwork and randoms seemed to ACTUALLY HELP, what? What's that? I just care about my KD, why would I care about the objective?

1 답변I agree completely! I've been getting like 20 to 30 kills a game and I'm pretty sure that I've gotten objectively correct from every game I've played. I am so frustrated when teammates run from flags even if we start spawning by an enemy flag. I was playing IB on Bannerfall yesterday and we had gotten a spawn flip and started spawning on an enemy flag. I was the only one going for A flag on my team even though everyone was spawning here. After I solo neutralized it, a teammate literally came from the back of the spawn, and walked on the flag, and then kept running just to try and get kills. I eventually got double teamed and wasn't able to capture it even though it had the tiniest bit left to capture, but if I had had that one teammate stand on the flag for 1 second longer, we would have had it.

2 답변IB needs control zone. Let's see if those clash scrubs learn about the importance of "capture the zone".

5 답변They should change it to zone control, then your kills wouldn't matter and they would have to play the objective, instead of running around like an idiot looking for kills and unnecessarily flipping spawns ugh.

작성자: TrulyDontCare 4/1/2016 3:26:42 AMNormally, my k/d goes up during IB (I'll normally get around 2.0) because I'll actually take it seriously. This time, I'm trying to get wins over a good score. My k/d has actually plummeted (I've been going negative a lot), but I'm winning more matches. That's because I'm sacrificing myself for the zones while my team runs around and plays Clash. That will never change. People never seem to get it. I've only came across one person using a mic so far and the teams never work together. It's like they all think it's a one player game.

2 답변In my opinion, Control never worked for IB. There are just too many selfish players who only care about their stats or bounties and that's why I felt like Clash fit better.

3 답변I hear ya!! Played 10 IB matches and won only one. no one is trying to capture zones just get kills. Do people not realise that captured zones give kill score multipliers?
-
They need to make playing the objective a thing. Just played a match where for about half the game none of the flags were captured. No one, I mean NO ONE was capturing them. Every time I captured them it seemed the spawns flipped and the enemies just retook them. Teammates saw me standing in the zones (alone) and would run right past. Can we have a feature that lets us say, "HEY ASSHOLES, GET ON THE FLAG!"

1 답변solution: objective based bounties. -capture 5 zones in one match. -hold 2 zones for 5 minutes -5 defensive kills -5 offensive kills -cap 3 zones more 1 or more teammates in one match or something.

You are not alone guardian!!! It is beyond frustrating getting dropped into a match with 5 kindergarten children who just got their first taste for video games! This IB has been the worst in months for bad match ups and lag too.....just my opinion though!!

1 답변I hear ya. There should be a rule in place where any player that was present for a whole match (beginning to end) that captured no zones should be barred from playing control for 24 hours. There is no excuse for not at least grabbing the nearest zone from the match starting point. If you want to play clash, then go and play clash.

I hate to break it to you man, but control is just clash with capture points. It's team deathmatch with the teeniest, tiniest sprinkle of "objective based" gameplay. I only play it when it's the daily / weekly or IB. Break out the strong weapons and let the salt flow...
