Ways to get out of jury duty?

Edit: The only way to lawfully get out out of jury duty (That I know of) is if you have family in law enforcement. I do, so I believe if you got arrested, you did something wrong. But I still go and tell them why I wouldn't be a unbiased juror. I would still do it considering that wasn't an issue.

17 답변You can tell them the following. #1: You're a racist. #2: You smoke crack #3: Muslim, who has dirty sexy time with camels and small amphibious rodents #4: Sloppy hand writing and say "and shit" somewhere on the form. #5: You died of dysentery. #6: Your spouse has a beastiality problem that needs your attention and or assistance. #7: Find out what day jury duty begins and tell them that's the day you beat your kids. #8: Wear a Cosby sweater and bring up the Cosby allegations. Tell them he is an innocent man and should be allowed to do and -blam!- any person he chooses. #9: Cut off the judge and ask them what comes to mind when you say the N word. #10: Monkeys are serial killers. #11: Act as gay as humanly possible. Offer yourself to the first 20 year old you see. #12: Show up and scratch alot. Use whatever reason you're doing this. #13: Enter the court room and have someone follow you in while playing Boombastic by Shaggy. Dance like Mr. Bean. #14: Have a friend beat the crap out of you and show up at the court with bruises and an arm in a sling. When asked what happened, just smile and say "I'm a real boy."

2 답변Coincidentally my college professor talked about this today. He said if you ever wanted to get out of jury duty all you have to do is grammatically correct the prosecutor. Apparently he has been dismissed twice this way.

Ok....you are probably going to be in a room packed full of people when the judge is going through the selection process. You probably aren't going to want to do the stuipid & embarrassing stuff people are saying. But Ok.. I've seen people be let off because They had a child in the hospital.....about to have surgery. They were self employed....had no one to look after their business. They said that their mother or girlfriend was recently mugged, or beat up by someone who was just released from jail & they said they couldnt be impartial. Usually a work conflict will get you out of it.........as long as you can keep your cool, & not seem to be obviously lying, and be competent enough to pass the judges light questioning. Just make it clear though your tone, or words that you really really don't want to do this & 99% of the time, the judge wants no hassles...........but yeah, some are assholes & if they think you are just lying to get out of it, they will screw you just for spite.

2 답변I'm permanently off of jury duty due to being hearing impaired. One letter about 15 years ago from my hearing doctor took care of that. Boo yah

1 답변Tell them you've watched every episode of csi, law and order, ncis. So you're will versed in forensics and crime scenes.
