Can someone explain? What's wrong with wanting and trying to win in a game mode where winning is the goal?

It's not a bad thing at all, and I agree with most of the community saying its annoying playing someone who is clearly trying harder to win than you are when I'm playing to relax. It's on Bungie to release a playlist that will accommodate those in the mood to play at their pinnacle. It will solve so many issues.

Nothing wrong with playing to win, it's just that people are sick of seeing people that are using thorn/y1shotgun/y1 rocket every single match that they join. It's just annoying to have to try hella hard to win the match so often. It's usually why I play 6v6 nowadays since it isn't as infested with "try-hards". This so called connection matchmaking is bullshit.

It just gets irritating if I'm playing just to chill and have fun, which usually the case, and someone is going balls out competitive and trying harder than everybody else combined. There's nothing wrong with it, but you can't expect others to not find that annoying.

it all depends on the mentality of the people involved... im not fond of crucible so I typically only play when I have a purpose to... that being said im not a scrub.. about average most days... some days I can activate beast mode.. and others I scrub it up with the best of em... but like I said.. if im playing crucible.. im playing for a purpose.. and no.. just for fun is not a purpose... its typically a bounty or wins for grimoire... so when I play with a goal... happiness for me is achieved by accomplishing the goal which ultimately means winning. and that's the difference.. destiny being the casual game that it is has a lot of people that say "oh I just wanna play for fun so whatever is whatever" and others say " im here for the win" and others are more like "jeebuz friggin toast... I just wanna be DONE WITH MY GRIMOIRE ALREADY DAMMIT".... yeah.. it kinda all depends on the mind set of the player and the purpose of being in the crucible. that being said... im gonna play salvage today.... if you wanna win, please be on my team.. if you just wanna -blam!- off, be my opponent :)

2 답변Tryhards is a term used by bad players to explain away the idea that they need practice.

31 답변Cuz all the tryhards are usually the fgts camping together holding hands, hardscopping every Lane, team shooting and worst of all, using all the ridiculous OP weapons, tlw mida thorn. They should be called an asswipe instead of tryhard...

Don't mind people doing their best, it's when they complain that others in their 'team' are doing stuff wrong and bad mouthing them instead of helping out. Sorry to say it, and it is a generalisation, but the problem seems more prevalent with American guys, perhaps the will to win at all costs is ingrained with the culture... The country hasn't many done badly out of it, just lost a few friends lol.

I agree with you, I think it's so stupid that people think being a tryhard is a bad thing... You're playing to win, not playing to let the other team beat you, do whatever you can do win and destroy them if you get the opportunity to I've never really understood why people think it's bad when it really isn't lol

I don't mind people who try hard to win. I just dislike the people who seem to not even know the definition of humble or sportsmanship. You know, the kind of player who easily goes 20-2 and teabagged after each kill. Or the kind of player who feels the need to send you hate mail even though they won.

The more ignorant society gets the more labels they will come up with the downplay the success that others achieve. We used to call people with no work ethic a bum. Now that bums are closer to the norm of the entitlement era, they call motivated people "try hards". Take it as a compliment and then try to imagine the convenience store the person who used the term will work in later.

There's nothing wrong. They use it when they get their ass kicked in. People just want the game to accommodate their needs. My K/D sucks but I have enough common sense to know that in a game like Trials, the most COMPETITIVE playlist in Destiny, I would expect most of the time to run into elite players.
