This has got to be one of the most baleful lines ever spoken from you Bungie!
Paul: If your connection is bad, we'll be giving you even more reasons to improve it.
Do you honestly think I can tell my router to go faster? Perhaps start my own internet service that's fiber inducing? Or go talk to the big companies and ask very nicely if they could help in my plight? Unfortunately there are many of us gamers who aren't as privileged compared to those with optimal connections and there is little to no chance we can really do anything about it and now you're threatening us?!
As a person who has "lesser" internet I can honestly say that whenever I've had a red bar, or even green a green bar, I've never felt like I had the advantage; in fact, the clear opposite happens to me. I get shot through corners, witnessed teleporting sparrows during SRL, you get the picture - it's frustrating! I understand that something needs to be done to those who purposely tamper with their connections, but to punish those who are trying to play legit is wrong; you're literally pulling an Ebenezer and it's so baffling. If you're that inclined to only want people who have privileged internet then you should have only sold the game to those people because apparently my money isn't good enough for you.
Believe me when I say I would LOVE to have the most up to date internet, but with the way service provider companies currently are, it will never happen because they're not going to go out of their way to help little me who wants to play games online or whatever. So, if you want your paying customers to be able to play your game without connection headaches then you need not to tell us about how bad our internet is, but to the companies who are holding your people back.
EDIT: "Poor" internet means not that great internet service - not money!

They should tell us the requirements. Until now it was 1 down/1 up, but if it will become 10/5 many people will quit. In my country only 3 cities have optic fiber, and without it the maximum upload is 512 kbps ( which I have )

I feel your pain. I'm stuck with Verizon DSL because that is literally the only option available to me. I could easily afford time warners most expensive package (which is still less than what I am paying currently) but the option just isn't available to me. I could pay to have the lines extended but that would easily cost at least $10,000. Not even exaggerating, $10,000. At LEAST. So verizon just gets to charge us whatever they want because they know they're the best option we have.

2 답변It's kind of like how banks charge overdraft fees for spending more money then you've got. They're not doing this to be cruel or to make money off of you, but instead trying to teach you how to better manage your money through negative reinforcement. For real, typed that while thing with a straight face. No hidden sarcasm message either.

20 답변Agreed, but I have some of the worst internet and I still get by. 612kb/s download, upload is around the same.

2 답변I don't have poor internet though. It's Bungie's shitty servers, or shit P2P, or whatever the fuck they use. I have perfect connections on EVERY multiplayer game I play. And I play pretty much every AAA multiplayer game out there. The Division, Battlefront, Battlefield, Call of Duty, Homefront The Revolution, Halo 5. I have ZERO connection problems with these games. It's fucking Bungie, it's just that them and their fangirl playerbase that still suck their dicks because of Halo 2 refuse to admit it.

My issue with Destiny is currently that same quote you posted from them. I would not mind their plans if i were always red bar since i started playing Destiny. The problem is that it wasn't until TTK came out, that i started having connection issues. I have been playing Destiny since day 1 with the same internet connection and i never had connection issues until TTK came out. I was always green bar with a really rare yellow bar from time to time. My old raid group(mostly people from US, Canada and UK) used to make host everytime the raid started to become laggy, to have a smoother runand solve the lag issue. Played year one trials a bunch and no lag whatsoever. I have played every IB that have come out, maxing out all three characters, and i was always green bar until the first IB after TTK came out. That first IB after TTK came out, went down as the worst gaming experience i have ever had in my 27 years of gaming. Three characters through rank 5 and every single game i was red bar, not even yellow bar...just straight red bar the whole week. How am i suppose to support the upcoming update, when my connection issues are caused by the changes they made to the game when TTK came out? Those people at Bungie must be delusional, if they think that i'm going to invest more money for better internet to keep playing Destiny. My current internet was more than enough before TTK....what the hell happened???

6 답변To the people complaining about this and claiming discrimination etc etc.. I think its more of an "equalizer"..your bad connections since day 1 have given you an edge/advantage over players with a good connection. Take it like an adult. Lifes not perfect (like your shit connection) so just accept it and overcome. Also destiny was marketed as an always ONLINE game..so dont bitch when they finally do something about bad connections. Besides, there's always Fallout 4 👍

1 답변Don't worry. Bungie's servers don't help, either, considering they're made of cabbage.

I spend $250 per month on crappy internet through my cell phone. That's what I get for living in the middle of nowhere. So it's not about how much money you spend, it's about the quality of service available to you. And unfortunately, in the US, good internet service has yet to become a priority for any business. Its all run by cable providers and telephone providers reluctant to kill off their primary business, so they hold it back and offer just enough to make it functional.

8 답변Honestly, yeah, having crappy internet sucks, but its not fair to the folks who spent the money to get good internet. But theres another thing, is it really about being fair? No, its about catering to a specific audience. They catered to folks with crappy internet for more than a year now. Now it's time for them to suffer the way good connection players have. I have 0 remorse or pity for the less fortunate. And you may call me an @sshole, but you know what? I don't really care, cuz i'm over here with my 100+ MBPS internet and having a jolly time. Sure the folks with crappy internet will feel bad, they may even say things like its not fair, everyone is entitled to their $hitty opinion. But do I care about those opinions? Nope, anyways, cheers! And if you wanna have a good time? Get some good internet or play something else, idgaf. Ahhh, being a doosh is so satisfying

3 답변No offense, but always setting the bottom as a standard is just wrong. So many examples of this- Schools in the US only caring about the lowest 25% so they can get their A rating, participation awards instead of championship trophies, etc etc Why should the majority of people with good/great connections have THEIR games be ruined to accommodate the fewer players with the worst connections?
-
3 답변You've happily played with the advantage of a poor connection all this time. Tough luck if it's now going the other way. Why should one persons poor connection help them over other's. Your connection can't handle the game, too bad.
