I envy you year 1 guardians.
Hi. By just reading this title, I'm sure you realize I'm no year 1 guardian. I didn't start playing this game til mid november last year so yes I'm a kinderguardian (I can already hear the jokes and/or bashing just-a-coming ). I missed out on, what seemed like, a great history before year 2. You experienced so much in the year this game has been out. Crazy and stupid hard nightfalls, raids and the icy sting or warm, calming touch of RNGeesus, meeting new people and making friendships that have probably lasted til this day all thanks to this game. Now, I don't know who Phogoth is, I don't get a chance to do a lot of raids (due to my limited amount of friends, being a father to my toddler daughter and working overnights at wally world) or anything to that effect.
You year 1 guardians...
I envy you...
I wish to know what it was like. The experiences you felt completing your first raid, that time you came out on top in a rumble match, the overwhelming emotions that came over you when you got your first ghally, just... everything.
Shed some light on this scrub and share your favorite memories with me. Tell me your war stories and pass on your knowledge to those who have come after.

Edit 2: Over 800 comments? Jeez, did not expect to have this kinda outcome. And I love hearing all the stories, it's fantastic. And I've had many offers to run through the old tales, should anyone like, I'm on the xbone and my GT is the same as my name. Thanks, again, fellow guardians, veterans and scrubs.

"You think an AR is gonna hurt that?!" -The battle for vehicle and turret control on certain control maps -The "original" sword -"Stupid freaking Hobgoblins" -Gorgons lair ("back up back up") -Sending 8 Gjallarhorn shots into any gorgon that spots you. -(last but not least) getting your first legendary engram and crying as it turns into a blue

There are many tales told throughout the forums to frighten scrubs. Lately, those tales have stopped. Now... the scrubs are frightened anyway.

작성자: APG ToxiiC 1/31/2016 2:48:40 PMFor me personally it was back when me and most of my friends were level 20 for the first time and where grinding to get that gear from dead orbit and got stuck at level 24... Or the times when we were asking our friend who was level 27 to carry us 24s through the vault. But the best of all was when me and some of my under leveled friends tried to defeat pho goth for 3 hours.

I had a talk with this to my Dad yesterday, I told him in year 1 completing a raid boss for the first time ever was so satisfying. In year 2, you just didn't feel that same satisfaction. The same joy like when you say atheon crumble to bits on the floor next to you. Oryx doesn't make me happy like year 1 did.

To be honest my first ever Iron Banner was in The Dark Below expansion, it was control back in those days and the gear that Lord Saladin would sell costs glimmer. I remember glimmer farming at Exclusion zone just to get Gheleon's Demise (Year 1 scout, basically Colovance's Duty but better because of re-rolling) and it was worth it. Back then i actually enjoyed and had fun with Iron Banner, yeah there were outstanding guns like the Thorn but i used my Red Death, currently i don't really like Iron Banner as much. And re-rolling the Iron Banner weapons was probably why Iron Banner was one of my favourite things in destiny. Efrideet's Spear, Joulder's Hammer and Radagast's Fury are still one of my favourite weapons. Shame i couldn't get Felwinter's (a shotgun you could snipe with). Oh those were my fav days of destiny.

my first vex mythoclast i got, we were just about to hit the last cycle of times vengeance and the police came to my apartment door looking for some dude who was apparently using our address and i had to go AFK the whole cycle and i was doing weapons of light and i could hear my team screaming bloody murder from my mic but they killed him right when the cycle ended and when i came back we were in orbit and i checked my inventory and there she was, my vex swaggerclast. wasnt pre-nerf but it was still a top dog.

1 답변The forever lvl 29 moments and the fate ringer moments were the best. Being the only one to get fate bringer in your squad and you here all your buddies start swearing up a storm cause they have ran it 30 times and never gotten the gun and you received it on the first run with no idea what it was!

3 답변First gally drop Finally completing the Thorn bounty Soloing crota while it was still relevant Soloing nightfalls with Ice Breaker First trip to the lighthouse Rerolling godlike party carshers and what not Y1 sure felt rewarding compared to Y2. Everything is washed up now. Y2 had its moments though. The black spindle quest while under leveled and stuffed. Oryx normal and hard when it came out. That's the only things I can think of, sadly. That said Y1 had 2 dlc, TTK had zero so far.

작성자: siegeh 1/31/2016 8:15:38 AMmy favorite memory was trading in my game for a copy of bloodborne when the new DLC came out. ironically that game's DLC has more content than the shitshow that was the first 2 "expansions" and in the end, that, battlefront 3 and TW:B are the only things I have on my PS4.

Yes year one was a magical time indeed. From the destructive powers of the gjallarhorn, felwinters, thorn, and last word to useless weapons like auto rifes and fusion rifles. Actually wait auto rifles and fusions still do suck.
