Hi. By just reading this title, I'm sure you realize I'm no year 1 guardian. I didn't start playing this game til mid november last year so yes I'm a kinderguardian (I can already hear the jokes and/or bashing just-a-coming ). I missed out on, what seemed like, a great history before year 2. You experienced so much in the year this game has been out. Crazy and stupid hard nightfalls, raids and the icy sting or warm, calming touch of RNGeesus, meeting new people and making friendships that have probably lasted til this day all thanks to this game. Now, I don't know who Phogoth is, I don't get a chance to do a lot of raids (due to my limited amount of friends, being a father to my toddler daughter and working overnights at wally world) or anything to that effect.
You year 1 guardians...
I envy you...
I wish to know what it was like. The experiences you felt completing your first raid, that time you came out on top in a rumble match, the overwhelming emotions that came over you when you got your first ghally, just... everything.
Shed some light on this scrub and share your favorite memories with me. Tell me your war stories and pass on your knowledge to those who have come after.
Edit 1: Wow, guys, I can't believe how much this actually blew up and is trending. Thanks to everyone who heard out a kinderguardian. I appreciate hearing your stories and just thinking wow. Again, guys, much appreciation.
Edit 2: Over 800 comments? Jeez, did not expect to have this kinda outcome. And I love hearing all the stories, it's fantastic. And I've had many offers to run through the old tales, should anyone like, I'm on the xbone and my GT is the same as my name. Thanks, again, fellow guardians, veterans and scrubs.

In year 1 the iron banner gear cost glimmer (almost the full amount you can carry). As a result I usually set aside the last day of IB just to make sure I had enough time to farm all that glimmer. It's so much better now

Having been here since release, I can tell you people bitched about the quality of the game just as much as they do now. For how much "why am I forever 29" and "why is the raid so bugged" and "why can't we push bosses off with grenades anymore" and "thorn is garbage" and "thorn is too op" and "omg who uses thorn anymore get a life" I endured, people "hate" the game just as much now as they always did. Much like a crack addict hates his dealer.

*head triples in size* I am not a day one player(joined during dark below) but im glad you appreciate how awesome this game is. Many people complain about how Bungivision screwed this game up, but I still love it and its still unique. I hope you continue to love it too:)

Loot caves, pushing Templar off the edge, pushing atheon off the edge, shadow price, queens wrath event, the first ever iron banner, that moment when you first realized how deadly and stupid a fusion rifle is, waiting forever for people to get threw gorgons, even shooting threw walls with a certain special sniper. Year 1 was cool, annoying, and time consuming. Year two is almost too easy so far.

작성자: smashbad 2/1/2016 2:15:28 AMIt took me two weeks after launch to realize Xur was a character, and even longer to figure out he showed up on a routine schedule. The Queen's event. The early days of not knowing where the entrance to the Vault of Glass was, when my friends and I thought it must be at the portal in The Juncture on Venus. Vault of Glass. Killing a Gorgon in VoG for the first time. Receiving Atheon's Epilogue the first time killing Atheon, thinking it was the Mythoclast everyone talked about. I clearly didn't really know what the Vex was. Not knowing why players had blue flames on their head. When I had friends and coworkers to play the game with for hours daily and it took a great deal of cooperation to complete activities like Nightfall strikes and Raids. When I first invested Strange Coins into upgrading a Rare Sparrow to a Legendary one. When my Fireteam had to start on the lowest level difficulty of Weekly Heroic Strikes and work our way up to get all the Strange Coins. Getting Shadow Price from a Nightfall right after buying it from the Vanguard. I felt ripped off, little did I know how good Perfect Balance would be on it. Not actually knowing how to defeat the Templar without pushing him off the edge after that was patched. Countless other great times. I had a lot of fun in the days of Vanilla Destiny and The Dark Below. Those days are gone. Excluding the few Sparrow races I tested out in December, I haven't played Destiny at all since October. The game is dead to me, something I never wanted. None of my friends and coworkers play anymore either. Maybe there's a future, but Bungie have grown some pretty dark feelings in me toward this game.
