So this isn't the usual "Why can't the game give us relevant elemental primaries anymore" thread that you have probably seen a for a while.
My question is more theoretical. Using the old raid weapons, which can be maxed at 170 light, do you think it will be at all effective in a nightfall, where the rest of the gear at 310? Reason I'm wondering about it is because I'm feeling a bit nostalgiac about the old raid weapons, and i was curious as to how much of a difference it would be for one item being that low.
So the question is, would you be willing to use a Y1 weapon in a Y2 activity, solely because of the fact that it has an Elemental Burn?

I did a vallus taarc nightfall with my VoC cause the modifiers were solar burn and small arms so even tho I was like 295 light with all my other stuff at or around 310+ I was doing OK damage. Not as much as if I had year 2 primary but it functioned nonetheless. Nightfall is only at 280 recommended light so if you're above that mark you can run it with year one gear. Not saying itll be easy, but it is doable.

1 답변I think they should just add a modifier that boosts year one elemental primaries. Would be cool to see a nightfall every now and then that lets you bust out VoC and FB.

I have tested this theory myself. With high enough light, pull out one, only one, year one weapon of year one maxed damage. It isn't more effective by a land slide, but if you have high enough light, and possibly a good burn for your weapon, you can deal better or easier damage. I did so with my hezen vengeance. Made me happy to wield it again.

1 답변because it's 170, it's gonna do that much damage. I pulled out ice breaker during a solar burn NF and it did about a third as much on a crit when compared to a non crit on my then 300 1ky. I put it away immediately. so the basic is you can use it, but it'll be significantly harder.
