I'm going to state why I think Iron Banner is a complete waste of time. I'm very angry at this moment, but I am going to try to display my thoughts like a sane person, even though I shouted very loudly after what had happened happened.
I have been playing this laggy, Mida infested game mode since Tuesday. Upon reaching rank 5, all I get is a 310 ghost, and 315 gauntlets. I have a 317 ghost. I have 313 gauntlets. Is this all I deserve from going through absolute hell all week?
Iron banner is no breeze when playing solo. Having to play against teams of 6, laggers, quickscopers, conspiracy theory d blink shotgunners, and Mida multi-toolers, this is all that I get? I understand very well that this is an RNG game. But this is unacceptable.
To anyone who has reached rank 5, we all deserve something good, guaranteed. Everyone should get one weapon, and one piece of armor that is HIGHER than what they have on, (by a noticeable amount, 4-5 light levels higher then what you have equipped) or AT LEAST equal with good roles.
The raid has a challenge mode that guarantees at least one 320 piece of gear.
Why doesn't the crucible have this? The crucible is arguably much harder than a raid is. Raids are the same every single time. Every enemy is programmed to do the exact same things. You are fighting a computer with designed intelligence. And although the raid may lag sometimes, the crucible is just as laggy. In PvP, you're fighting real people, with real intelligence. Why do we get rewarded less for considerably harder challenges? Iron banner takes days of grinding for a chance at a 320 piece of gear. Challenge mode takes a few dozen minutes for a GUARANTEED piece of 320 gear.
Additionally, many of my friends have moved on to the Xbox One, and I cannot do the raid anymore. LFG is such a pain that I refuse to use it. I'm not playing with people from a different country just to lag and get kicked, or have some stuck up tight-ass boot me because he wants to control everything I do.
I can't afford a new Xbox One. Not everyone can just go out and buy a new console because other people are.
Edit: We're Trending... Please keep commenting your thoughts and opinions about the loot from iron banner.

In this video MoreConsole talks about loot, and addresses some of my ideas. Is Iron Banner Worth It?
Edit 3: I don't have a trials/raid team. Please stop telling me to play those. If I could, I would.
Edit 4: Over 1000+ replies. Nice. Please keep commenting and sharing your iron banner experiences, especially if you want Bungie to improve the quality of their loot system.
And to those of you who comment negatively, just know you're only bumping my post and that I appreciate it! (:
Edit 5: I've heard a few suggestions (excuse me, I don't remember the fellow guardians who came up with these ideas, but you'll know who you are) from a few of you, and to be frank these are some good ideas. One guardian said getting a guaranteed 320 across all three characters (only getting one 320 even if you've played on all three characters) should be implemented. I believe that end of match rewards should only be given to those who are on the top 3 of their team's leaderboards. Those who give the most effort get the most in return. This would encourage guardians to play the objective more often, and of course just play better overall, (capture the zones!) not just sit afk in a match to get to rank 5. Another guardian suggested implementing a "challenge" mode into the crucible as a weekly bounty/quest, similar to the raid's challenge mode. This should obviously not be a task that just anyone can complete, but at the same time it shouldn't be harder than the raid's challenge mode.
Any more ideas? These would all be excellent improvements to iron banner in my opinion, what are your thoughts?
Edit 6: A guardian just posted this link showing his experience fighting another laggy guardian. These kinds of things happened a LOT during Iron Banner.
