Not sure that people would complain if it wasn't tied to Silver purchases. If I would've known this is how Destiny would turn out, I would've never bought the game. Microtransactions, whether they're cosmetic or not really annoy me. Everything should be obtainable without the need for real money. I've spent enough of my money on this game for lackluster content. They finally add something that many people wanted, but not because people wanted it, just so they can milk more money out of the dwindling playerbase until people are fed up with the whole game in general.
This isn't a sign that Bungie is remembering how to have fun with games again, it's Bungie realizing people like you will waste money on stupid 3 week events like this, guess what? This is going to be a new trend for Destiny, every couple months there's going to be another cash grab expertly disguised as a "fun event", but the only way to really get the most out of these events is to spend real money, has nothing to do with making fun content, just another cash grab in most people's eyes.

All you have to do is complete a questline for a new sparrow that's on par with anything else you can earn or buy. You just won't look sweet riding it. Is that really a problem? Also any end game sparrow you already have will be just as competitive. Maybe you should look into a subject before you complain about it. People who bought dumb dances and mask for a little bit of fun paid your your new free content that wasn't advertised when you bought the expansion. A company like bungie could easily sell hundreds of thousands if not millions of dlc packages for $10 or more that include a new race mode, holiday event, challenge mode and a new crucible map. All things the gave us for free in the last 6 weeks.

Yeah that money is going to great use! We got one crucible map, there was no confirmation on emotes paying for DLCs, when the next DLC comes out, and you have to buy it, look back at this and realize you were wrong. Also, challenge modes were in the game from the start of TTK, The Holiday event was just a CASH GRAB, it paid for another cash grab. You desticles will defend anything. In a game that isn't free, everything should be able to be earned, not having to shell out more cash. You have to pay for Destiny, then all the expansions, do you think it would've worked when Destiny first came out? Hell no, I think people are tired of companies trying to milk them for whatever they can get, cosmetic or not.

No one is making anybody buy anything. Are you getting owned in the crucible because so guy bought an Atheon mask that gives him an advantage? Is somebody doing a stupid dance that instantly fills their super bar? No. if someone wants to spend their money on something regardless of what it is that's fine as long as it doesn't effect anyone else. All these things Bungie has done is open to anyone who owns TTK. These were never advertised as being in the expansion. They are neat little bonuses that's it. Do you yell at the little old lady at the grocery store offering you a food sample because she only wants you to buy a product thus in your mind being a "cash grab"? If you don't want the little sausage slice on a pretzel stick just tell her no thanks and keep walking. Or you can try it and if you like it pick up a package and take it home. Is that analogy too complex for you to understand because based on your idiotic response I can only assume you are a child who has no comprehension of how a business works or you are a basement dwelling troll who is afraid of the real world and just lives on these forums.

Did you even read anything that I typed? Or is your reading comprehension that of an elementary student? I said the "Challenge mode" was in TTK before release. You're the kind of person that would let Bungie shit on them, and then thank them afterwards. Micro transactions have no place in a game you have to pay for, and pay for DLCs. EVERYTHING should be able to be earned through playing the game, that's my point. There should be NO micro transactions, it's bad business practice, it doesn't pay for anything other than these little events to milk you for as much as they can get. Just like having dances and what-not that are only there for a short time, it's psychology, to make people want something they won't be able to get at a later time. You can defend micro transactions all you want with "It's just cosmetic, blah blah", I don't give a shit, it's the kind of thing that is ruining the gaming industry, more and more companies are starting to do it because they know people are dumb enough to waste their money. More time and effort goes into these little events than actually fixing major issues with the game, or giving us some content that is worth the time, or you know... Fixing bugs, making new quests, balancing weapons, balancing classes, making another raid, or more strikes. I don't think anyone would be complaining if Bungie wasn't trying to milk their players for every cent they can get, they already got us for $140, do they really need more?

Probably played twice as much FF7 as this, had no DLCs, and was single player. In a game that you have to pay for, everything and I mean everything should be available without paying out more money. I can understand free to play games, but you have to buy Destiny and all the DLCs.

If you expect to play a game that is complete at launch and will never offer any dlc or microtransactions, you're gonna have to go back and play some systems from three generations ago. If you're so offended by these ideas, then maybe it's time for you to step back from the hobby, because that's where everything is heading.
