Ward of Dawn is almost 100% Useless in PvP
So, I just got one shot shotgunned from 10 ft away with Blessings of Light on. I love Defender so much, but it's almost COMPLETELY useless in Crucible. Weapons barely does any extra damage. Blessings is ridiculously easy to break, as I've experienced. And Armor is rarely useful, since someone will doubtlessly super you before you can get a single kill.
Speaking of supers, the fact that Sunbreakers only need to use three of their 7-8 hammers to pop my bubble is infuriating, and makes me loath them even more than I already do.
All in all, I cannot do Defender in Crucible anymore. The subclass is made for defense but can't defend against JACK SHIT.
Edit: I've taken a lot of you guys' advise. I'm now running Armor with a Conspiracy Theory, and I have my No Backup Plans on standby once I get a non Exotic helmet I can wear (I deleted all my Rares LOL), and hopefully will be getting Immobius soon. I also have my 1000 YS and Weapons on standby. Thanks for the tips!

2 답변I popped hammers, ran into a bubble and got meleed to death by a Titan that survived 3 hammers inside of it. I'd say that's pretty embarrassing and useful.

I have to disagree with your opinion. My highest kills in a single match came from my defender subclass (36kills/4 deaths with a 26 killing spree in control on cauldron). I freaking owned with it with ACD/0 feedback fence combined with armor of light and a continually recharging force barrier made me a near unstoppable force. It took two back to back kamikaze nova bombs to end my spree. (One to destroy my bubble and my force barrier and one for the kill it seemed).

I love the class, personally. And it can still do amazing things. Just...yeah, it's hella bad at defending from anything. Even with Force Barrier, Force Barrier perks, and No Backup Plans, they are so bad at defending xC I'm hoping the Chaperone and Shotgun nerfs aren't too bad, though. I wanna still be able to shotgun snipe with Weapons of Light :P But when you read that long ass list of shotgun nerfs...half of which are unneeded...yeah... Back to snipers!

18 답변Armor of light is god mode in crucible. Sure, people can Fist of Panic you, but 9 times out of 10 I can defeat every other super with it. Also, if a hammer bro is wasting hammers on your bubble he's not killing your team. Which is a huge bonus towards you winning the match. Of course, in something like rumble or another non-objective based mode, that doesn't matter. Which is why I stick to objective based PvP.

Honestly, I feel like people who run Defender in Crucible and claim it's useless either don't know how to run Defender or are playing the wrong game mode(s). I literally almost [b]always[/b] run Defender and finish at the top of the team, if not the game. Ward of Dawn is crazy good for Control also (if you have Armor of Light on).

Feedback Fences are amazing with Armor, since you can take a melee and lose only a fraction of the shield. Also, NEVER PUT IT ON A CONTROL POINT. That thing's gonna be supered quicker than you can imagine.

A nightstalker's tethers increase damage enemies take as well as suppression of abilities and movement, plus the crazy orb generation. Armor of light should be a standard part of WoD and in its place a perk to make more orbs on activation. Let's face it the WoD does about as much in PvP as standing next to wall, only this one gets broken by supers and can be passed through. [spoiler]do people know how to count and don't bother. It doesn't matter how much you blow up the number it will still barely be 7. Even with the perk people throw about 5-6 cause energy for number seven got spent running around.[/spoiler]

If you're in crucible with blessing pop the bubble around your teammates and run away. One person with an over shield is manageable. 6 people not so much. As long as you stay alive your team can do the work for you

I used to play my titan exclusively as defender during IB - B was mine or soon to be reclaimed - forced opposing team to deal with it by wasting supers on me alone or wasting supers on my bubble when I'm not even in it any more - more of a distraction tactic but the fools that came in without supers were blinded and shotgunned accordingly - meanwhile the rest of the team could mop up since everyone seems to want to shoot at the bubble last IB my titan chucked hammers... tbh that isn't as much fun
