I've played Destiny since launch. I've made the odd contact here and there. Sometimes on a rare occasion, I'll even add someone as a friend.
Well a week or so ago, my girlfriend created an account, and unfortunately for her, has what you might call a 'girly' PSN ID.
As a result, she is inundated with random friend requests, and people even start just following her around on patrol.
It's all the time.

I think I now know what it's like to be a girl in an MMO, and it doesn't seem to be too different from being the the last human alive in a zombie apocalypse.
Get a life, please...

To answer several themes occurring:
- if it doesn't happen to you personally, or you happen to be a guy and happen to have had similar experiences; congratulations. Either way, this doesn't invalidate the original post. As you can see from the plethora of confirmatory responses from female gamers, this happens a lot, and whilst it's the exception to happen regularly to guys, it's the rule for it to happen regularly to girls.
- I am not a girl gamer. I am the boyfriend of a girl gamer. Read the post before jumping in with a presumptuous comment.
- I/girls shouldn't complain because there are worse problems in the world?
Irrelevant!
This is a Destiny related problem being posted on the Destiny forum. Whether there are worse problems in the world is irrelevant in the context of this thread. If you judged every problem based on the existence of worse problems, then you'd never resolve anything, purely because the largest problem is the inexorable exploding of the solar system.
Pointing out worse problems is basically a way of saying "I don't really like this post and want to disagree, but can't think of anything sensible to say".

2 답변I hear these stories all the time, but never have seen these events happen. Not sure if people really want attention that badly to make up this stuff, or if I somehow get absolutely amazing people every time I ever go online.

6 답변Get a grip guys it's a game. You play it don't matter if it's a girl or a guy. Woman or man. My wife plays destiny and is probably better than a lot of guys on it. She won't talk down the mic because of all the assholes in the game but hey I don't talk to assholes Eather.

5 답변It's because the gaming world is full of thirsty man child's who's never actually interacted with females in real life. A girl is a like a unicorn to these -blam!-ers.

I have so many friends who's girlfriends play with them that I'm used to girl's in my fire team and I know that most of them can be taught and actually end up as really good players. It's pretty funny when a random will hit on them and their boyfriends tell the dude to fvck off or play along and troll them.

작성자: TheRealRazgriz 11/29/2015 9:58:07 PMMust be a problem on the PlayStation. (Not a console war jab) my fiance and I play on Xbox live and her gamertag clearly marks her as a girl. She even openly talks in lobbies. No freak outs, friend requests, people acting weird, acting like she's a burden. Edit: everyone posting in this thread is fvcking cringe

That's how it is with my sister (we live together and game). Whenever she's in the tower there's always a crowd following her spamming the "O" button or waving relentlessly. She was shocked by how many friend requests she was getting in the beginning..I was not

I still haven't figured out why being a guy or girl on here makes any difference. All I give a crap about is if you wanna play with us or our clan you just have to be cool relaxed and someone who can hold their own. What difference does it make if you are a man or a woman? I think people need to just stop being so thirsty and remember you're playing a game. If you want some maybe leave the house and go get some. Probably not going to find it online.

3 답변I see posts like this a lot.... I've never really had a problem. Yea there's been the random "babysit" comments, but then they shut up when they realize I can hold my own. As for the random friend requests, I have notifications turned off. Seems there's more of a problem with this on Playstation than Xbox.

23 답변omg, but it's true! I find myself going back to orbit a lot, because some jackass patrol stalks me and tries to kill everything I aim at. Then at the tower, there's often that one guy that won't just f-off while I'm decrypting engrams and organizing my vault. I'm turning into an anti-social b*tch because I realized that I can no longer wave back at a random or just run up and dance with them because I will receive a friend request from someone I will never play with again once I add them or even worse I get the type that is somehow on my fireteam right after I choose my character. It's really a mess, because I don't enjoy being unpleasant to others, but stop following me around though.
