It's not pre-ordering, it's not DLC, it's not even unfinished games being released. It's nothing the developers or publishers are doing. The solution can be found by looking in a mirror. The entire gaming community makes a huge flaw which is what's ruining the gaming industry. So what is this HUGE flaw we're making? HYPE, we overhype games to absurd levels, then when the game is released it gets hate because it didn't stand up to our absurd expectations. Almost every game these days gets hyped as the best game ever, which is something that no game will ever be.
To me its developers cutting content that was supposed to be released with the disc but, selling it later as DLC, and not being good on their promises. And locking content that people paid for because they don't continue to buy the DLC.
I have no issues with games being hyped because I don't jump on hype trains or form my judgement of a game off another's opinion of an unfinished/unreleased game or even released games for that matter.
