A little over 100 years ago over 20% of the Swedish population (1.3 million people) left Sweden to move to America. The situation in Sweden was bad back then (religious prosecution, economic depression, crop failures, famine, etc) so people turned to America to find a place that was livable. Just thought you guys should know.

8 답변Several years ago, there was a similar crisis in Burma/Myanmar. Many refugees fled to Thailand, and were (and still are) held in understaffed refugee camps. They would, depending on their situation, live in these camps anywhere from six months to several years. During this time, they would attempt to immigrate to western countries, the main ones being the United States and Australia. I've known many of them personally, and heard what they went through to get here. One of my closest friends was born in a prison in Thailand after his parents were arrested for fleeing into Thailand without a passport. He was five years old when his family moved to the U.S., and I still remember how terrified he was to move somewhere entirely new. His parents earned their citizenship a few years ago, and they are currently taking courses at a community college to find better jobs. He recently earned a scholarship to a very prestigious private school nearby, and plans on becoming an engineer when he graduates high school. His three younger siblings look up to him almost as a third parent, despite the fact that he's only 16. These are the types of people who want to immigrate to the United States. These are the types of people you are turning away. /rant

From a logical perspective: Nationality is arbitrary and meaningless The plan was to allow 250,000 refugees in before the attacks in france. If (and I stress if) a similar attack happened here up to 200 people could lose their lives. 200 people for 250,000. So we should absolutely let them in. From an emotional/moral perspective: You can't turn your back on 250,000 people You should absolutely let them in From a policy perspective: We dont negotiate with terrorists. This prevents terrorists from gaining leverage over the government. If we allow terror attacks in france to alter our stance on the immigrants, we have allowed terrorists to exercise leverage over us. We shouldn't let that happen. So we should let the refugees in.

2 답변If one of Isis's members didn't pretend to be a Syrian refugee to get into Europe, then the polls would probably be the opposite

1 답변Should just do something about Isis. Or at least help in someway shape or form. What Isis does to its captives is inhuman. I regret watching a execution video, just from the way it made me feel that a group of people can do this to another. I personally don't stand for that. Genocide is never okay.

3 답변Hell No, since when did America become obligated to take in 10,000 refugees when they already have enough problems as it is.

1 답변

Because you opened this. you will get kissed on Friday by the person you love or like. Tomorrow will be the best day of your life. Do not break this chain. You have 2 minutes this is not a fake...apparently. Forward this to 15 people in the next 15 minutes and you WILL have the best day of your life tomorrow. You're number one crush will either KISS, ask you out, or call you. If you break this chain, the little girl named Kaitlyn who died 2 years ago on a car crash will be in your room TONIGHT! Good luck <<3, and your time starts, right know No Cheatin

5 답변The question is, how many do we accept in? How many thousands, and then millions will we accept from an obviously entirety different culture before we start to lose our own identity? It's not that I'm against other beliefs, but it's no secret the West and ME countries have many differences, and the more we let in, and then let them repopulate, and grow in influence, the more we lose our own faces. Their culture often teaches many anti-freedom ideologies(look at their women, for one), and if we let them come in more and more because we think we're racists and cold-hearted bastards if we don't, we fall victim to too much outside influence.
