No, people arent leaving destiny in the way you're implying. By that I mean: going by your post, it seems you've been playing destiny awhile, so you've gotten a lot of gear/weapons/etc. So while you turn your nose up at a 275 ghost, there are people out there that would love to have that ghost, especially new players to destiny that are trying to get their light levels up. What i'm saying is just because you've played destiny a lot, have done a lot in the game, and are feeling burnt out, doesnt mean everyone is feeling the same way.
With that said, I will say: yes, people are leaving destiny. They are leaving to play some of the many new games that are coming out. Now, before people try to twist that into some kind of 'they are doing that cause destiny sucks' thing, that's not the case at all. In the world of gaming, people leaving whatever game they're playing to play the new game(s) that come out is a natural occurrence. Now, the the thing that determines a game's life is whether or not people come back to the 'old' game. In destiny's case, i believe they will. So no need to panic and scream the sky's falling.

The games moto is "become legend." If im at 300 light while doing the nf, i dont want a -blam!-ing 275 ghost - its a waste of my time in a loot focused game. And, no, i dont gives two shits that its worth something to a newer player. Wtf does that have to do with me?

Also, you're right, this is a loot based game, but that loot is random. Some loot will be better than other loot, but since we dont have control over that, it's the gamble we take when playing the game. As for how it pertains to you: it doesnt, but i wasnt talking about you in my original response. But if your goal is to get better loot than you have currently every drop, you're setting yourself up for disappointment because that aint gonna happen.
