But shotguns are not a problem to you? At least a sniper rifle actually takes a little skill to use. The aim assist on snipers is fine how it is, please stop trying to make this game terrible -.-

Other games use less aim assist and people get along just fine. The problem is everything in this is tailored to casuals including the aiming. The mechanics feel smooth and amazing and then you watch your shots get pulled to their head an inch away on the screen and it kind of ruins the competitive aspect of it.

True, and I could understand a slight adjustment to snipers with very high aim assist, but I wouldn't want it to be too much, as it would make it extremely difficult to use a sniper when you are under fire, even more than it is now. But I do agree that in some ways this could prove to benefit, as long as other slight adjustments could be made to prevent them from breaking in certain situations.

There's no sway in the snipers on top of being able to choose a scope that's shorter range, mix in the insanely high aim assist and you have a recipe for making snipers useable in situations they shouldn't be. Kind of like how shotguns were. The problem was never really with shotguns other than a couple like felwinters, the problem was map design, special being so readily available, the unique movement offered from each class (especially blink) and the very overpowered radar. All of those things made shotguns a more viable option in this than any other shooter I've played. Shotguns are near unusable now unless you are very very good at out playing people.

I actually disagree. Shotguns are still a very viable option. All you have to do to get a kill with a shotgun is run around, aim, shoot. Whereas sniper rifles depend more on aim assist, and the skill of its user, it is much harder to use a sniper rifle at close range, and if you can land a shot that close, you should be rewarded for doing so. Not to mention the fact that sniper rifles fire a single bullet at a time, whereas wig a shotgun, you really don't have to worry about missing, if you miss with a shotgun you just flat out suck. Also, there is a new year 2 felwinter (basically), called Conspiracy theory D, I don't know about you, but that is literally the only thing I ever really see people using in their special slot now. If shotguns were really all that bad after the patch, people would have stopped using them as much, however they are still dominant in the crucible. Some people (most people I meet) will literally use only a shotgun the entire round, only using their primary when guarding special ammo, it is so much harder to do this with a sniper rifle however, because it can sometimes be hard to judge whether a majority of your encounters will be long/mid/short range, whereas with a shotgun, all you have to do is get close and pull the trigger. Anyways, I really don't think snipers need much, if any aim assist nerf, as they can still be tough to use in certain situations.

I'm very familiar with that shotgun but I actually prefer the full auto Hakke one I have when I do decide to shotgun. Which isn't often considering I have about 8x the amount of sniper kills compared to shotgun. That's the way you think about it but what I experience now instead of shotgun thorns is pulse snipers every trials game. I actually recently started using a shotgun because it's become so boring hard scoped down 5 rounds every trials game waiting. It's terrible. Shotguns have no range and snipers take little skill. Just take out special from trials because it's becoming so boring. The guns that are supposed to take the most amount of skill (snipers) take less than modern hand cannons thanks to the huge aim assist Nerf to them right before the taken King. They won't ever change it however because this is a casual game not competitive, thus casual sniping skills still can quick/drag scope with ease.

I personally think (although I very rarely do trials) that it would indeed be a good idea to remove special ammo from that particular game mode, as shotguns can prove to be useful for some situations, I feel like using something like a luck in the chamber eirene would prove to be more effective in most mid/long range engagements.
