There will be no free DLC. Microtransactions and DLCs will be the new thing. No new strategies announced. Source: Gamespot article will link it soon

Edit: Many people saying that it doesn't specifically say that the paid DLCs will come back. Well let my friend Coyote X Starrk put it more obviously on his response
Destiny's microtransactions and paid expansions are both selling well, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg said on an earnings call today, November 3. As such, Destiny players can expect to see more of both in the future.
Thx to Coyote X Starrk for clarifying this

This is Luke Smith: We asked about Bungie leaving year-one players behind. “I think we didn’t do a good job of explaining that ahead of time... We also haven’t done a great job of explaining what is content that players own and what’s programmed content—things that are subject to change.”

7 답변작성자: BUDDY-VA 11/3/2015 7:13:29 PMMicro transactions were not supposed to fund free DLC anyway. The point of the micro-transactions are for the following: "Our plan is to use these new items to bolster the service provided by our live team for another full year, as they grow and create more robust and engaging events that we’ll announce later this year. It has been, and continues to be, our goal to deliver updates to the game. Going forward, our live team is also looking to grow beyond vital updates and improvements to focus on world events, experiences, and feature requests." https://www.bungie.net/7_Introducing-Eververse-Trading-Company/en/News/News?aid=13672 I guess you could you interpret the "robust and engaging events" and "updates to the game", "world events, experiences, and feature requests" as free DLC, but this again is a problem with how Bungie communicates things and lack of reading comprehension from the community.

Y'all are dumb. First of coarse there will be new dlc that is paid for. Thats always been a given. Second yes they will release some random dlcs for free that are fun. Nothing like a full fledge expansion. Third they never said ALL dlc will be free just some. So calm down. Fourth anyone making a stink about this needs to grow up and learn that this is a capitalist society. Fifth gimmie your salt and sit the hell down. Play destiny or dont play Destiny The article doesnt mebtion a removal of free content for Christs sake it doesnt even mention free dlc. So untill we get an official announcement regarding the fact stop being childish and jumping the gun. Posts like these are cancer on the forums all they do is work everyone up over nothing. GG

작성자: Luckdog26 11/4/2015 2:24:33 AMWho cares? Lol. Also, this is just another case of the destiny community gone wild. It was never implied that ALL destiny dlcs would be free, rather, we would see more free dlc content in general. The big taken King like expansions were ALWAYS going to be paid. Edit: don't say confirmed until it is CONFIRMED. This is just an Activision executive talking about possibilities. It is probably true, but I'm sick of people yelling "CONFIRMED" every 5 minutes.

9 답변작성자: TheFatKiwi 11/4/2015 1:18:20 AMWho really gives a fúck? Like come on people, it's a game for Christ's sake. Half of you are 12 and your parents buy it anyways, and the other half need to stop playing video games, get off the forums and get a job. It's not hard to buy dlc if you have money. 40 bucks isn't a lot. No one wants to hear you complain about how you should get things for free. Nothing is free or fair in life, get over it.

If so I'm done yeah it's a good game but not s great one of they wanted they could but they figure it's already selling good Why put more effort into it It saddens me but it's world we live in all about money nowadays This game could be so much better and maybe if I take a break and then someone else does the same and enough people do it, they may take notice And.. Put more effort into the story, servers, new gear instead of same gear from launch just in diff colors(same with enemies) and would it kill them to add some new ships only a handful of new ships in TTK mostly all you see is ugly ones from y1. More effort from them would be a great start!!

Do any of you honestly expect them to release free large amounts of content such as raids/strikes or story content without being a subscription based game? Especially when millions of people will pre-order said DLC the moment it becomes available, regardless of what crybabies say on the forums about spending there "oh so hard earned 20$?" You do realize that Bungie and Activision are not non-profit organizations, right?

5 답변So by him saying that we can expect more emotes and DLCs you think that means that he "confirmed" no free DLC? Can you read?

Bungie never said they would provide free DLC's with the revenues from Eververse/Silver. While I'm not certain on every detail about the Live Team, they are not a part of the Development team for the DLC's. Below is an excerpt from the update Deej wrote on the Eververse Trading Company:
Our plan is to use these new items to bolster the service provided by our live team for another full year, as they grow and create more robust and engaging events that we’ll announce later this year. It has been, and continues to be, our goal to deliver updates to the game. Going forward, our live team is also looking to grow beyond vital updates and improvements to focus on world events, experiences, and feature requests.
I hope this helps.

작성자: JHarv 11/4/2015 1:44:18 AMCharge people what they're willing to pay. That's how you stay rich. I worked at a physical therapy center that basically charged people whatever their insurance, or they themselves, would cover. Some people paid $140 per session, others $50 per session. All for the exact same treatment. Why would you charge everyone the value of the treatment (service, product, whatever) when some people (customers, insurance companies, etc) are willing to pay more? You are willing to pay for DLC and little masks, therefore they will charge you what you will pay. If you don't pay, the trend changes. Welcome to business 101.

13 답변And with that I am done. I have spent over $120 on this -blam!-ing game and not only are they going to try and get MORE of my money they are also going to withhold content from me and sell them separately by way of microtransactions? -blam!- that and -blam!- Bungievision.

just guessing... little event shit like what we've recently been given is the free content that Silver will be funding. real DLC will be actual content & that will cost money. -- there's been a version of this argument on GTAO for the last few years. players refer to the content that comes with the updates as DLC, but fail to realize that DLC is optional & comes with a price. the content that comes via updates is required & doesn't come with a price.
