No Free DLC Confirmed
There will be no free DLC. Microtransactions and DLCs will be the new thing. No new strategies announced. Source: Gamespot article will link it soon

1 답변I don't think there was any misdirection and no real greed either in this. Well still be getting bonus content for free but there will be no destiny 2 like everyone thinks. We are going to keep getting big dlc drops every year and of course we'll have to pay for them. It's a model similar to the one wow has been trying at (albeit wow has a sub as well). We won't be getting destiny two because a sequel implies a complete removal of previous iterations. If we got destiny 2 it would mean that even if we kept our guardians we'd be losing all the base game worlds and content for new content. Dlc/expansion adds on to already existing content which is what I think bungie means here. I will say though that the dlc might be $60 instead of $40 this time around. This is not to say that bungie isn't it wasn't greedy in other ways or that try haven't made messed up decisions before just what is the most likely outcome from trends and quotes I've seen so far.

These guys are happy with anything, though. They're easy to please. Throw together a half-assed Xmas Festival with some legendary fake beards and reskinned consumables to advertise and promote the selling of some lame dance moves and these guys are on it, lapping it up like flies on shite. It's free DLC ennit, they love it.

When you kids grow up the first thing you will learn in life is that nothing is free. There will be more DLC sold and more micro-transactions. There will be no free DLC. Micro transactions will fund events such as Festival of the Lost and things like that. You will receive no free content in terms of DLC sorry to break your fan bot bubble.

Those are the key words there, he didn't confirmed anything to begin with, if micro transactions sell more (and they will because people are stupid), they will change the model to that system alone. Open your eyes to the future of an almost sub only game, and stop thinking they aren't on it only for the money.

You literally saw the phrase "micro transactions and expansions can coexist" and then came here to make this post. You literally didn't even read the article. Nowhere did it say that free dlc won't be happening, and it'll all be micro transactions now. Ignorance.

9 답변But that says nothing about about a drip of steady but small content being released every so often until the next expansion. It doesn't say there won't be [i]any[/i] content that's brought in because of the micro transactions, just that expansions will still have to be paid for. We were never told that we'd get expansions this way in the first place. But as long as it stays with cosmetic items only then I'm happy - so as long as it doesn't end up being something like £5.00 for legendary weapon set/ marks pack then I'm fine. And don't respond with the "slippery slope" argument, seen it too many times and the only thing that's actually valid in the entire instance is that no one but bungie and Activision know what's gonna happen with it, jumping to conclusions is almost literally the worst thing we can do at the moment. [spoiler]i say all of this and yet I'm actually a little burnt out with destiny at the moment so I'm on syndicate...[/spoiler]
