There will be no free DLC. Microtransactions and DLCs will be the new thing. No new strategies announced. Source: Gamespot article will link it soon

Edit: Many people saying that it doesn't specifically say that the paid DLCs will come back. Well let my friend Coyote X Starrk put it more obviously on his response
Destiny's microtransactions and paid expansions are both selling well, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg said on an earnings call today, November 3. As such, Destiny players can expect to see more of both in the future.
Thx to Coyote X Starrk for clarifying this

2 답변I'll put this as basic as possible. Silver is generating a lot of sales The Taken King, House of Wolves, Dark Below all generate sales. Add that all together and that's a profit. What will come next after this conclusion? I'm guessing more Emotes (maybe other items) through Silver. Also, more Expansions that we will be paying for. A question for everyone: What happens when they create free DLC/Expansions? I'll give you a hint:
It's the opposite of profit
The funny thing about players comments is people forget that there are business insiders in nearly every field of media. I don't follow kotaku, but so far everything I've personally seen them release or announce has come to fruition. This is why businesses like to control the media, because they know if someone puts out certain info it could be damaging. A while back I posted a link that had some guy who did have access to bungie it was confirmed he was behind the scenes with them and he said bungie wanted to make a lot of money because they didn't make the money they could and should have with halo compared to a series like gears of war. Despite people trying to say oh he doesn't work for bungie so he has no credibility Fast forward to the present and what he said before destiny released has been proven true.

작성자: Appell 11/4/2015 12:41:54 PMRemember when the Bungie community actually liked Bungie, though in fairness they've done nothing to deserve any praise since leaving MS. Every time you get a glance of the old Bungie they go right ahead and dickpunch you with another horrible change.

Don't -blam!-ing sit there and act like we're all so happy with being force fed cut content and additional cosmetics for a fee. If it were up to the community we probably wouldn't have micro transactions. DLC is one thing that I expect to be paid but please don't sit there and act like we want them to co exist. We would rather you give us an ability to earn it in game rather than us pay out of pocket.

Wait people actually thought the microtransactions were going to mean free dlc? Free dlc? In an Activision game? Were you all expecting that if you bought enough weed camos and zombie themed reticles in cod that they wouldn't still charge you an arm and a leg for a couple of maps?

Bungie, with the TTK, seem to have a Dune hard on. (seen in the ship jump puzzle. Kinda looks like the navigators room?) They seem to have adopted the business strategies of the Barron. 1st I'll send Rabban. and he'll squeeze, and squeeze and squeeze.(Rabban looks like Luke Smith, coincidence?) Then I'll send Fade to utterly overcharge them Feels like TTk is nothing but a hollow cash grab

hahah "our players are hungry for more content" yeh coz bungie can never deliver a good sized expansion that has a good amount of content… have to rely on gating gear and weapons to give the illusion that taken king is more than it is. leaving players constantly bored with nothing to do . pathetic.

Why would a company who creates games to make a profit ever make dlc free? That's the whole point of a dlc, to keep the game relevant with the user and to keep profits coming in for the developer. The free content is the little updates and events that they create in the game. Such as short missions, holiday events, and little rewards. I'm with the OP on this, they never even stated their would be free dlc with the micro transaction in place. Where did that line of thinking come from?
