There will be no free DLC. Microtransactions and DLCs will be the new thing. No new strategies announced. Source: Gamespot article will link it soon

Edit: Many people saying that it doesn't specifically say that the paid DLCs will come back. Well let my friend Coyote X Starrk put it more obviously on his response
Destiny's microtransactions and paid expansions are both selling well, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg said on an earnings call today, November 3. As such, Destiny players can expect to see more of both in the future.
Thx to Coyote X Starrk for clarifying this

Well, you only need to pay me and my clan with donations of weapon parts, silver, planetary mats, glimmer, etc. We will be setting out for the Americas this coming Tuesday with aims to return the following Tuesday with new quests and treasure maps of the Old New World. Thank the Speaker and Amanda Holliday for tasking us with such an endeavor.

1 답변Never once did they state that DLC would be free. The extra income is for the live team. Sucks I agree but what else do you expect.

This isn't a confirmation. They didnt say if it would be or not and I guarentee its a very talked about subject. They read these forums and they know what people are wanting to see. They're walking on egg shells and I'm almost positive comments like that are made to generate feedback from the community en masse.

4 답변작성자: NightMist 11/4/2015 1:05:00 PMThey specifically said micro transactions were for the live team. The Live Team: live patches & live events (IB, ToO, Festival, ect) Kotaku has 0 media cred. So I don't know why people take anything they say without a giant salt lick. And it's not the first time the 'DDF' (Destiny Defense Force) blindly defended anything that wasn't true. Example 1: pricing on TTK for vets. DDF: "get a job, play another game." Bungie: we screwed up, we fixed it now. Example 2: iron banner drops DDF: "get good, you entitled scrub" Bungie: there was a bug. We're fixing it. Example 3-100: any issue DDF: ignorant forum replies Bungie: update or hot fix

Battered wife = micro-transactions and PAID DLC!!!! Yup, officially the best forums ever. Take a deep breath, relax, and come to the realization that your addiction to digital loot is real. Who cares, if they shoot themselves in the foot then let them, that just means it is time to move onto another game that you can drown your sorrows into.

5 답변The sky is falling! At least it could be, we actually dont know for sure but if we look hard enough and put enough speculation into every word spoken by every Bungie and/or Activision employee, we can certainly convince ourselves that the sky has indeed fallen, even if it has yet to begin to do so. Microtransactions: nothing game changing. Until there is anything game changing available or even announced to be forthcoming, there is no problem. DLC: i dont think anyone expected all future expansions to be free until an article came out suggesting that Microtransactions would pay for future content until fall of 2016. The fact that this is even on the table is pretty cool imo. Not sure what the problem is.

2 답변Why is this still a thing? DLC and Expansions are considered different things. For example: DLC are things like House of Wolves and the Dark Below. Smaller updates with a few new story missions, maybe strikes and/or a raid. New items and maybe new locations. The rumored Vex and Cabal missions would fall under this category. I'm assuming these are what will be free. Expansions are much larger updates that are always paid. Taken King and Destiny 2 would be these examples. In the MMO world think all the World of Warcraft expansions like Burning Crusade and the upcoming Legion. Of COURSE Expansions will still be paid for, their HUGE updates. DLCs can be doled out for free and its not that big of a deal.

2 답변I laugh at the people who actually thought they were getting free DLC from this and were justifying MT's with that notion... No, this is clearly another super easy source of revenue for Activision. I can see them right now, giddy with happiness prancing around the room, punching the air with glee. You all fell for it, are still playing, and enough of you are buying emotes for them to comment on its success. Now that Activision knows they can go further... Well, I'll let your imaginations fill in the rest.

6 답변작성자: K1msest 11/4/2015 3:57:22 PMLmao I'm not spending more money, I only spent 45$ for Destiny+DB+HoW+TTK and I'm already tired of it. I can't wait for silvers to be Y2 Etheric Lights, you wanna infuse your Fatebringer? 4.99$ Free Expansions are the opposite of profit, but DLC? We shouldn't pay for 10 weapons, 2 strikes and 3 pvp map, ect...

I encourage everyone to not buy this or at the very least not preorder this next season pass. I personally think the taken king was worth it but think about the dark below and house of wolves. Both had massive flaws and were insanely over priced.

They will come back with some disclaimer about how they said free 'Content' not DLC. I knew from the start this free content would be minor. Probably a handful of time gated missions that were planned all along (and are already finished). And now they are using them to justify microtransactions.

Here's a quick list for everyone: - Kotaku is terrible at life, and why would anyone believe their speculation? - This is what I expected to hear, and it makes sense. - Microtransactions have already given us a benefit. Liking the Festival of the Lost? Thought so. - NightMist hit the nail on the head. Big difference between people who use common sense, and blatant fanboys (who are just as annoying as the "must criticize everything, even if I have to make shit up" crowd). - Bungie needs to fix a lot of things.... but giving away expansions for free isn't part of what they should be doing. That's honestly pretty stupid to expect that.

3 답변No shit sherlock. Anybody that thought they were even going to be a thing should kill themselves for being so stupid. I'm probably not even kidding.
