When arc blade was running rampant in the crucible and titans and warlock came crying, what happened? Nerf. Now arc blade is easily shut down by a shotgun melee. Try that on a sunbreaker and see what happens. I really don't see why this is so difficult for people to understand. Hammer of Sol has twice the amount of shots as a golden gun, with the same amount of mobility, the most armor of any class using its super, it has ridiculous aoe explosion with better "grenades and horseshoes" than current rockets, and the ability to heal on kill with a RANGED super. It's like a sunsinger with radiant skin, shooting double the shots of a gunslinger, which have aoe damage, and the hungering blade of a bladedancer. You can't just pick the best perks of every super, give them all to one subclass, and then go on expecting it to be balanaced. Christ. Edit: I almost forgot one of the best things! The goddamn hammers have tracking too! :')

    Yet you can dodge hammers, you can actually hear it coming if you don't see it, you can shoot it, you can use something other than a shotgun against it (WOW!), it's not pinpoint accurate, it has a limited range, and you can use other supers against it. Still think you can't beat it?

  • You can hear every other mobile super's activation as well. You just aren't listening for them as closely. You can also snipe every other mobile super with a headshot. You cannot shotgun OR snipe a sunbreaker. (With the exception of Black Spindle of course. But I shouldn't need to have a specific gun equipped to counter that one super.). How is that fair? Finally, the supers meeting each other: Golden Gun - can't one shot HoS, gets killed. Arc Blade - needs to be in close, gets killed before they do so, or is crushed cuz they can't one shot HoS. Shadow Shot - can shut down HoS, but tether takes time to activate so HoS usually kills it anyway. Direct hit from the bow will not kill a HoS. Fist of Havoc - can shut down HoS, but need to be very close range and usually will get killed getting that close. Bubble - HoS has 7 hammers. How many does it take to kill a bubble? Goodnight bubble. Nova Bomb - can shut down HoS, but is one shot and sometimes killed during activation by a hammer. Stormtrance - often killed before they can even get close enough to cause damage. Radiance - good luck with that lol. Compare those results to any other super v super and you'll see what a joke your last statement is.

All of the maps are close quarters, anyways. Sunsinger: why even try m8? No one uses it. Defender: okay, defensive subclasses are dead. Bladedancer: why? Voidwalker: accuracy is key. So is good timing. Question: are supers meant to be stopped? [spoiler]no, just op.[/spoiler] How to beat it: Shadowshot: tether and shoot. Simple. Golden gun: Just. Shoot. Twice. Striker: get whatever that perk is. Unstoppable, I think? And shoot. Blade dancer: *shoots self in head* Stormcaller: how can you not get close when maps are literally MADE for cqc? Just use it at a good time or run. Voidwalker: Use good timing. If you hear it around a corner, use it just before it comes around, or run and do that. Defender: no. Just no. Sunsinger: *slaps guardian* you retard!

  • If super are not meant to be stopped, then why do they all (for the most part) cancel each other out, except for just that one? And ok so we agree on arc blade, bubble, and radiance. Here's why I don't agree on some of the others: Stormcaller needs to be close. Even though the maps are close quarters, their super does damage over time. They need to sit there for a while to kill HoS because of that massive armor boost. All it takes is one hammer to the face and boom, Titan has full health again. Golden Gun has three shots, yes. Trick is getting a second shot off before that hammer hits you in the face. But can you explain to me why it should take two shots from the low ammo capacity golden gun to kill, when it only takes 1 shot from the comparably higher ammo capacity of HoS? Shouldn't it be the other way around, really? Why should you need 2/3 of your super (which has 0 armor increase, by the way) to kill one guardian, when all he needs is 1/7 of his to kill you? Fist of Havoc, Nova Bomb, and Shadow Shot are all viable, but here's why they're lesser supers: FoH needs to be close. Even with the increased jump, you need to be close. HoS has a huge range advantage and the ability to use the super multiple times, rather than just one and done with it. If you can get that close to HoS then you deserve it, but i'd say 7 or 8/10 times you get killed. Nova Bomb is a great way to shut down HoS. My team used it effectively in a flawless run last night. But it's only slightly better than Fist of Havoc because it doesn't have as much of a range issue (though still less range than HoS). But see the above, still a lesser super... You get one shot and that's it. If they miss, they try again, and again, and again... Shadow Shot should be the one. The perfect solution to anyone rampaging around with a super. One problem here. I don't know if it's what they intended or not, but suppression doesn't work right away. I hit a titan with it last night in that flawless run and it took too long to activate. I could see the tether connecting him, but i ate a hammer anyway, and my teammate ate another, and we lost. Then his super went. If Shadow Shot is meant to be the Achilles' Heel of HoS then it should work faster, because that sucks. Otherwise, what's the point of it?

  • I kind of agree, though then it would be too weak for PvE and that's a problem. Cauterize being removed would be enough to even it out, i think. Maybe slightly lowered armor but not down to nothing
