The blue gear is awesome.
Idea: create option for spending exotic shard (or use glass needles) to convert blue gear to legendary and unlock ability to infuse/upgrade it like legendary gear.
Danger: upon hitting max level instead of grinding for gear one may be inclined to purchase /upgrade blue gear. This had the potential to shortcut the journey to max gear and lessen the replayability of the game. So, make it costly. And make it involve quests to accomplish.
Example would be the way one obtains "No time to Explain". This way, the gear (rather than just being random light upgrades as you grind up levels) can be given back stories and incorporated into the plots.
Also, rather than just being shards or needles to upgrade, make it require certain number of elements or fragments that drop from dismantling the gear AFTER starting the quests to upgrade the pieces.
This way, we can wear the gear we love and make it higher quality without having to sacrifice light or stats to do so, and without breaking the games repeatable playability.
Please feel free to comment and improve this. I have other ideas as well about how to roll this out that go into further detail, but I felt this addressed the most important/obvious needs.
