In control with 0 captures, what are you even doing? If your team wins it's not because you've helped at all. They have another game mode that suits your play style better, check out clash.
Edit: I see a lot of people are missing the point, yes, getting kills is important. But, if you don't cap and hold zones at the same time you're just making it harder on yourself.
Edit 2: Love the "maybe YOU should play zone control" comments. Way to miss the entire point of the thread. I agree with everyone saying you cap and control 2 zones, then treat the game as clash.
Edit 3: Great discussion here people! Based on posts, there's a lot of people I'd like to have on my team, and then the few who inspired the initial post. But, it seems to be a post that needed to be made because everyone can now vent their frustrations/inspirations behind their play style, maybe for the benefit of the game.

They are sitting at the back of the map stat padding with a sniper rifle. I prefer to finish games where i get "The Best Around" and "Objectively Correct" at the same time. That's how winners play. (I'm bad at PvP, so no need to post my awful stats, thanks!)

When I'm topping the leaderboards by killing the enemy before they even get near whatever zone I'm currently guarding... Then yes, I am contributing to the win. Much more than the guy who has 3 captures, but also has 2 kills and 14 deaths, anyway. . Also, what do you expect me to do when we have A and B? Go for C for "shits and giggles?" I'd rather win the match, thanks.

I get best around a lot in control, with 0-1 captures. Often what I do is stand in a safe advantageous spot while my teammates cap the zone so I can cover them. Often zones (especially B) are in precarious spots with little cover or choke points so it's helpful to have someone nearby strategically placed who can help out.

1 답변Playing zone control is comical. Sometimes you play against teams that just go for kills and ignore the points like they're playing team slayer or whatever. It's ridiculous. And fun to not have to worry about either zones because you already have two uncontested and not about k/d because who cares?
-
I somewhat agree with you. Sometimes, you can definitely support your team from afar by taking out guardians that try and cap your own point or you can take out guardians that are trying to take out your teammates. Generally, I will help neutralize a point and then move to an area that needs more guardians.

A good k/d is important in every mode. If you are getting killed in capture you are forced to respawn away from a capture zone letting the team that killed you more easily capture. It is easier to defend then capture so basically kill away. Also a good k/d could be from being good at defending zones. I have only been playing crucible for a couple days and to be honest it gets easier the more I play. My overall k/d was .3ish now it is at .77 in just 2 days. By the end of the month I will be pushing 2.0+ why? Because I practice and I don't see the point in doing anything if I do t want to get good at it. I forgot to point out, the more zones you capture gives more points for kills making it easier to acquire enough points to win. So improve your own k/d, and most important work as a team and you will not have anything more to complain about.

I try to make it a point to Atleast capture zones 3 times in a match. Obviously if the enemy never claims the main 2 zones we are guarding then capturing zones isn't necessary... But I won't just leave zones in the enemy hands. Drives me crazy when teammates run right past a zone they could be capturing -___-
-
You're right, which is why I hate objectives. I will always capture almost 0 zones because I want to focus on gunplay. I snipe and use long range primaries and I don't like to get up close and personal, and control points get hectic. I only touch control when I'm not fireteam lead and someone drags me in lol
-
I rarely get more than one or two caps personally, but am often the only person defending. Control these days would be more accurately called zone flip flop. Both teams just keep running from zone to zone to zone. Really dumb.
-
Actually in control you gain points by getting killed while zones are controlled. The more zones, the more points. Taking and holding zones is the primary focus, getting kills is secondary but just as important as long as you hold zones. It's too bad we can't do a controlled study (no pun intended). Have a team hold all the zones but not get any kills. Have the other team get as many kills as possible without taking or neutralizing zones.

What about those of us that manage to PTFO AND keep a positive 1.0+ K/D? I don't PvP a lot, but control is my favorite and I have a strong positive K/D. I don't really see a lot of people with 0 caps playing control to be honest, and the ones who I do see are my friends and they focus on harassing enemies and keeping them off zones, not capturing. Not everyone has to play like you do in order to help their team.
