I used to feel so good about using my handcannons. Now, they are too weak. There was no good reason to nerf them into oblivion.
As they are: They have the worst ammo capacity, slowest reload, slowest fire rate, poor initial accuracy, very low ads zoom, smallest magazine size, ridiculously poor range and therefore terrible accuracy at anything but close quarters, often they also have pretty poor stability.
In practice:
- Shotguns will win in any close range. (I hate how the Conspiracy Theory will destroy me by the time or before I get a second shot off)
- pulse, scout, and auto will all win at mid to long range. (Pulse completely dominate all, autos are mediocre but pump out the bullets, Scouts have faster reload, quick fire rates, and awesome stability, with MUCH better range/accuracy... There is literally no reason to use a handcannon.)
I do think the Ace of Spades and Hawkmoon are solid. But the entire class of guns needs to be revived. I think nerfing Thorn and The Last Word was needed. But the changes should have stopped right there. I argue for a pre 2.0 return to glory for most handcannons. They are not fun now, and don't make you feel like you have agency in the game. Too often, shots go into thin air... or you are simply out matched by the power and range of everything else on the map. The theory that guided the decisions to alter the range and accuracy so drastically was flawed. The guns feel broken.

3 답변Funny part is, is that Hand cannons were never that overpowered in crucible. Only 2 (3 on playstation) were a problem due to their special abilities. Very rarely would i see a Legendary hand cannon in crucible unless it a very specific gun perk layout. Now, i might see a hawkmoon once in a blue moon. I see a bigger variety of AR than Hand Cannons and that should say something.

4 답변The Last Word was not needing a nerf and now there is a quest that requires The Last Word. Yeah, have fun with that one.

4 답변So, to stop your bitching, I went flawless with the Last Word, Hawkmoon, Byronic Hero, and Imago loop, so please, maybe you should just practice.

작성자: Kirby235711 11/1/2015 9:16:31 PMDon't forget First Curse. Totally outclassed by Hawkmoon. In literally EVERY WAY POSSIBLE. Every stat is higher except impact, which doesn't matter considering holding aces. It makes sense that hand cannons have always had a bit of trouble since they were originally going to be special weapons. Bungie pretty much made them so that now they would be better as high impact sidearms anyways. I vote we petition to have hand cannons with big magazines (the only good ones) brought down to earth with smaller magazines, have hand cannons' accuracy and reload speed increased, slightly increase stability, give First Curse one more bullet and more stability to allow for 3 kills in pvp without needing to trigger triple tap, and of course a 1.5 to 3 magazines worth increase to reserve ammo. They should put hand cannons somewhere between where they are now and where they were back in the glory days of thorn.

Agreed man. They've been hit way too hard. And as many people have said already - the class didn't need a nerf at all. The 3 pvp exotics needed specific tweaking, but the legendary hand cannons weren't great even pre nerf. If anything the class needed a slight buff!

1 답변Idk what your issue is with hand cannons but I find hand cannons to be prime as f*** I get well over 15 kills a game only useing them .

*sigh* they were my favorite guns to use in pvp and pve but now I go pulse rifle in pvp and scout rifle in pve. They are useless in pvp although last word still owns cqc and in pve they have shitty ammo capacity. I don't understand why they nerfed it to oblivion...

1 답변Main problem is that they are unreliable at the moment due to their low accuracy, sometimes headshots are not headshots and body shots end up missing the target. Hand canons need a buff to accuracy.

6 답변Just got the adept Water Star from Trials. Pretty meh. The gun is good, but it really feels like I have to be a lot better than my opponent, or catch them off guard to get a kill
