Here is a post in which I warned of purchasable timed exclusive content
Don't get me wrong the Halloween event is good, but don't you sheeple see that it is just a way to scam money out of us?
If you buy any of those packages with cash then you my friend are going to destroy this game.
The next marketing technique is something to get more out of the time you put in, purchasable items that say work like three of coins or allow you to do multiple raids on a character. Effectively reset your characters items for money, not game breaking but a slow ease in to it so nobody makes a fuss.
Be careful guardians
(Edit) ugh I hate having to edit but too many people aren't intelligent enough to understand a few points.
1) I called the fact there would be timed purchases only obtainable with RL currency (dances) it's a simple marketing technique. Think about it, you might have seen an add on TV for say KFC or something offering a new item on their menu for a limited time. This creates urgency in a consumer so they buy despite not needing or really wanting it all that much.
2)eventually money will slow down on purchasable cosmetic items (this is the rule of the market) and the marketing team will release something different. This is why a new I phone comes out every year. And this is where the game will start to change.
3) these silver purchases aren't going towards dlc like you think. You will still have to pay $50 or equivelant depending on your country for the next dlc like TTK or HOW. This silver purchase goes towards events like queens wrath or say halloween event (surprise surprise, we paid for an event which is designed to make us pay even more. Well -blam!- me "marketing")
4) keep in mind bungie is a business. Business has marketing, marketing is about exploiting customers to suck as much money as possible. If people will pay for it then someone will sell it (supply and demand)
5) a little maths. 100,000 people pay for 1 dance (1% of playerbase) 20,000,000 players.
At $10 a dance that's $1,000,000
How much do you think it costs to make 3 dances?
Edit 2) I have not changed above post at all.
Below are some of the most common assumptions/weak ass arguments I keep getting. Before you tip your head sideways and spill stupid all over the reply button please read.
"get a job/you're poor." Anyone who can afford a console game power internet etc can spare $5 for a dance, it has nothing to do with this.
"You are a kid in your parents basement, get a job." Even if I was (I'm not unfortunately I have to work) then my dumbass parents would probably give me $5 if I asked seeing as they're stupid enough to support me.
"It's only cosmetic" my whole point is that I like cosmetics, but in this game it won't stay that way.
"You called me sheeple so now I'm upset and your (yes your) stupid" I called people that are blind to simple marketing techniques and the obvious trend this game is following sheeple, if you catergorize yourself as such then basically, sort your shit
Oh oh and "free dlc" <------ the hell do you even stay alive from day to day lol plz survival of the fittest my ass
.
5 답변I liked the slow clap and Carlton emotes so I bought them. I don't like the stuff from the Halloween so I didn't buy them. Easy enough isn't it?

1 답변People make money off of everything you buy, you apparently think you should get free fries with your double cheeseburger. As long as it's not P2W idgaf, you can buy it or pass it's your choice.

4 답변It seems self fulfilling since MMOs and FPS head in that direction. Any point in particular your dreading or just micro transactions in general?
-
1 답변More content? More money. Better content? More money. Broke ass cheap people are the only ones complaining about it.
-
3 답변Dude, i hate micro transactions as much as you but i seriously think you have the wrong end of the stick on this one.

2 답변Hey genius the pay curency is to alleviate the fiscal crunch on the game. The reason they broke the core game into dlc is because they would have had to charge around 170 per unit otherwise. This is a way to balance the cost of a high-end game now while keeping pure content free or at the least affordable. Don't talk business when you're still in high school kid.

1 답변All your points are presented nicely, well done. I know it's all possible and I believe you will probably be right in the end but I try not to assume the worst. But if it turns out that way, you called it
-
4 답변Well, you do knw the said that they this was the point of this the micro transactions....right? You made no big discovery. They PLANNED on selling cosmetic stuff for cash in order to cut down on future dlc cost. Sooooo, good job?

4 답변To those idiots who keep saying it doesnt matter, why does the OP care etc.? You're truly stupid. It does matter. You're ruining the -blam!-ing game by giving into Bungie's stupid marketing scheme. If this is viewed as a success, Bungie will continue with these sort of money making schemes as opposed to addressing the actual issues. This game is ruined, and it makes me sad.

8 답변It's not a scam, they are not hiding anything or forcing anything. I find it entertaining so I wasted a little money on it. Put any useable stat on an item for purchase and I will not play. Done.

1 답변Why are you trying so desperately to convince people to not spend their own money? If anything they're doing the opposite of killing Destiny, they're funding it for the future of Destiny. Besides, it's not like you're on their marketing team, how can you make these assumptions? If you're honestly afraid of Bungie trying to sell items to make players different from one another quit now.

3 답변Amazing insight, calling the fact that purely cosmetic items might be sold for money. Nobody else ever would have thought of that one! Crisis averted. Well done.
