Here is a post in which I warned of purchasable timed exclusive content
Don't get me wrong the Halloween event is good, but don't you sheeple see that it is just a way to scam money out of us?
If you buy any of those packages with cash then you my friend are going to destroy this game.
The next marketing technique is something to get more out of the time you put in, purchasable items that say work like three of coins or allow you to do multiple raids on a character. Effectively reset your characters items for money, not game breaking but a slow ease in to it so nobody makes a fuss.
Be careful guardians
(Edit) ugh I hate having to edit but too many people aren't intelligent enough to understand a few points.
1) I called the fact there would be timed purchases only obtainable with RL currency (dances) it's a simple marketing technique. Think about it, you might have seen an add on TV for say KFC or something offering a new item on their menu for a limited time. This creates urgency in a consumer so they buy despite not needing or really wanting it all that much.
2)eventually money will slow down on purchasable cosmetic items (this is the rule of the market) and the marketing team will release something different. This is why a new I phone comes out every year. And this is where the game will start to change.
3) these silver purchases aren't going towards dlc like you think. You will still have to pay $50 or equivelant depending on your country for the next dlc like TTK or HOW. This silver purchase goes towards events like queens wrath or say halloween event (surprise surprise, we paid for an event which is designed to make us pay even more. Well -blam!- me "marketing")
4) keep in mind bungie is a business. Business has marketing, marketing is about exploiting customers to suck as much money as possible. If people will pay for it then someone will sell it (supply and demand)
5) a little maths. 100,000 people pay for 1 dance (1% of playerbase) 20,000,000 players.
At $10 a dance that's $1,000,000
How much do you think it costs to make 3 dances?
Edit 2) I have not changed above post at all.
Below are some of the most common assumptions/weak ass arguments I keep getting. Before you tip your head sideways and spill stupid all over the reply button please read.
"get a job/you're poor." Anyone who can afford a console game power internet etc can spare $5 for a dance, it has nothing to do with this.
"You are a kid in your parents basement, get a job." Even if I was (I'm not unfortunately I have to work) then my dumbass parents would probably give me $5 if I asked seeing as they're stupid enough to support me.
"It's only cosmetic" my whole point is that I like cosmetics, but in this game it won't stay that way.
"You called me sheeple so now I'm upset and your (yes your) stupid" I called people that are blind to simple marketing techniques and the obvious trend this game is following sheeple, if you catergorize yourself as such then basically, sort your shit
Oh oh and "free dlc" <------ the hell do you even stay alive from day to day lol plz survival of the fittest my ass
.
2 답변Mate. I have to eat. thus, even if I in the above example only would eat from kfc I could chose which meal I take. Of course they try to make money with stuff like that, who wouldn't. But I don't have to dance. Same in game, I don't need dance. If I get screwed by marketing because they play me like a violin over in the financial department by inducing a sense of need in me with cosmetic stuff... well, than good for them! I do not see - currently - the need to be alarmed. I can't buy any meaningful benefit in game in comparison to players who do not buy any emotes. Unless you count cosmetics to those meaningful benefits. honestly, I would say the year one benefits are more in that area than the silver bought ones. But for that no one is concerned, so... anyways, to each its own. cheers

3 답변I enjoy the post, but it's not really a scam. People know what they are spending their money on. I personally think it's cool, but I'd never spend a dime on any of that stuff.

5 답변Seriously. People are defending Bungie. Bungie has to make money. That's what they're saying. You wonder why Donald Trump is going to be the next president?

3 답변Most of what bu gie is doing is part of marketing 101.. hell I like the game so I am glad to give them 20 extra bucks for this event. I like it. And I'll probably not get the skull, but it's the thrill.. kinda like gambling. Haha

1 답변As soon as I saw micro transactions being added I got a sinking feeling in my stomach. Slippery slope indeed. I enjoy this game immensley, but will jump ship as soon as pay to win rears it's ugly head. As far as paying for DLC, I'll believe it when I see it. Bungie's track record on delivering their promises has been woefully terrible.

1 답변No problem with this, don't buy any silver, did not even spend the 400 silver i got for free yet, the day this game geta unplayable without buying things with microtransactions i am going to quit. Until then i don't worry ...

9 답변Holy -blam!-ing shit. You've blown my mind. Do you mean to say that a company that can only function with a sustained income, is trying to get us to buy things from them?! This is completely new information to me!

작성자: ExPLiCiT812 10/28/2015 6:24:12 AMIf it ever comes to the point where rmt effects the speed of the grind(i.e. consumables for gear drops[raid, nf, etc] or multiple raiding, extra characters etc.) i will walk away. Until then enjoy your dances. I will just point at you.

1 답변Still waiting for the logical explanation behind the "more money = more content = destroyed game" argument you're making. Simply because the new content doesn't add value to your specific experience doesn't mean purchasing the zombie dance shouldn't add value to mine. Which it would, and will, once I make the purchase. There also is no evidence to suggest micro-transactions are in any way affecting the production of dlcs. However, even if it did, I wouldn't stop making my purchases. When the day comes that you make my money for me, you can have full authority to dictate how I spend it.

1 답변Then let this game be destroyed. I hope BungieVision makes everything purchasable. All materials, upgrades, weapons, armor, etc. Anything and everything. Put it up for sale and let's see what happens.

2 답변So you're trying to fault a company for wanting to make money (they ain't the first to do this, nor will they be the last). There is no proof either way as to if this goes to free content over the next year (time will tell). Hopefully both companies realize that changing it to a pay to win will destroy the game...but again, time will tell.

2 답변Ok ? You'll never get people to not buy the content. So this inevitable slide is well underway as they have foreseen. I did get the thriller dance however as I said I would. Was and is quite enjoyable.
