Hey guys. So In this video I discuss a very important issue in the video-game industry: Pre-orders. It has ruined many games in the past, Destiny, the game we all play, being one of those and it will continue to happen if we don't do something about it.
In this video I also talk about how much better Destiny could've been and how Pre-orders may have had influence over the game's release, resulting in a poor quality product, that would be "upgraded" through DLCs.
I am by no means bashing Destiny. It is the game that I have played the most of all time and I absolutly love it! However, these are very important issues that should be brought to everyone's attention and dealt with.
Do you still pre-order games?
What games will you/have you pre-ordered?
Are you against Pre-orders?
Do you only pre-order when you are certain that you are going to buy the game, not regretting it?
Do you research a game before you pre-order it?
Let me know all of these by leaving comments below and by answering the poll.
Thank you for your attention Guardians.
May the Traveler be with you to Kick Oryx's Ass !!

1 답변In your video you say we should not preorder and how bad it is... Then you say you've preordered destiny ttk and black ops 3 and defend your reasons for it.

3 답변I only preorder under certain conditions I pre ordered wolfenstein the new order because it looked amazing (it was, more so than i could have ever in my life imagined) I pre ordered destiny because bungie. Dissapointed in the short term but dont regret it in the long term Pre ordered ttk because HoW impressed me quite a bit after the mess that was TDB, and its completely stunned me by how good it is Pre ordered MGSV because kojima has yet to fail me. His track record remains unbroken (technically) Ive pre ordered a bunch of nintendo games, but its nintendo so thats for the most part a guarantee of quality. Smash bros 3ds, smash wii u, splatoon, majoras mask 3d, bayonetta 2, all fantastic Gonna pre order xenoblade chronicles x because nintendo and probably nier 2 because platinum

2 답변If I know I'm going to get it I will preorder. By preorder, I mean pre download. But I don't waste my money on special editions. They can keep their extra Chinese manufactured crap. If I confirm I will play the game long enough, then I will fork over more for a DLC pass. So glad I can download games now. I will never set foot in a GameStop again.

1 답변I pre-ordered taken king, mass effect trilogy, PlayStation all-stars, and armored core V. Only ACV and PASBR sucked so terribly bad and my only issue with taken king is the nightstalker super and how it effects the pvp that's it

I thought the reason they want pre orders was to stop, retailers cutting into their profits buy selling returned copies for 10bucks less a day after their game cones out.. I used to just buy a game when ever. And would always choose the cheaper one, until I found out the devs get no money from used games The pre order bonuses are just a way to encourage consumer's to buy it new and not used

1 답변How about don't tell me what to do with my money. If the game looks fun I'm absolutely preordering it. And if turns out bad then I won't get the sequel. That's why I'm probably not going to get Destiny 2 because Destiny was such a letdown

Now it's just a way to streamline the process and get people an extra $5 for "guaranteeing you a copy of the game" example is digital pre order allows you to pre install the game and start As soon as the clock strikes 0000. Unless you can't live without the preorder bonuses then it's not really necessary. The exception is premium/collectors edition versions of the game that are limited quantity. I would hardly say preorders are what cause undesirable deadlines and the way games are shipped. It's just business and money in general, when they plan to make a game they set a deadline. Depending on which company it is and who their shareholders are, that deadline can be loose or very stern. Most of the time the shareholder doesn't give a rats ass about how the game is. They just want to make sure that they get there return in money when it's suppose to be. How many people start to lose interest in a game if it gets pushed back a lot? I know I do, when I start seeing deadlines go back I put that game on the back burner and stop following it because I know it has issues and they haven't fixed them yet. Then I tend to not buy them at launch and wait for reviews before I purchase. What Bungie/activision did with cutting content for dlc's isn't a new thing. It happens all of the time. If you are hiring a team of programmers you want them to do all of the work as the original team. Because when that game launches that team will be gutted and only a handful of people will be around for support. Do you really want a skeleton crew working on your dlc's? So they pay the team to work on the game and the dlc. It's just in this particular case with destiny that plan didn't work out so well and there was a giant pile of dirty laundry that was aired out to the public. Regardless it doesn't make much difference to me since I enjoy the game immensely and have put over 1100 hours of time into it. Is it disappointing to find out that content was cut? Yes. Is it disappointing to find out it was sold to me later? Sure, but then I realize I put over 1100 hours into something I paid less than $150 for. Well hell, that's one amazing deal.

1 답변The whole reason for pre order in the first place was because back then, it actually was pretty expensive to mass produce disks and cartridges so they would release limited quantity. Often people would have to wait a couple weeks for the next shipment if they did not pre order. In today's combined digital age along with the reduced cost of shipping disks, that is no longer the case. Even the bonuses which used to be gamestop exclusive are no longer exclusive. So in short yes you are right. There is literally NO reason to preorder nowadays.

I look at it like this. If some major disaster or war or anything happens between now and the time I pre ordered I just lost that money. I will hit pre order the night before a game I'm dead set on buying for the bonuses though
