First of all, I know how to snipe. My career sniper headshot percentage is 77.4% on my lowest character and 80.5% on my highest. I am 496th in the US in average distance of kills (which is odd, because I used shotguns the first three months I played the game)... so that's not the issue.
I felt really comfortable with just about every sniper in year one. I probably used just about every one of them at some point or another with little-to-no problems. This year, however, all of the snipers feel a bit off.
It seems like all of the guns "drift" a bit, and I have recorded several cases where I pulled the trigger as the reticule passed the target's head only for it to register as a body shot...or worse... not at all.
I was just wondering if anyone else has felt the same? If so, are there any snipers you've ultimately settled on? Oddly enough, I feel like Black Spindle has the most Y1 feel to it. I'd rather not drop an exotic on my sniper spot, though.
Here's a list of all of the snipers I have used so far in year two:
- 1000 Yard Stare (Shortgaze)
- Hereafter
- Black Spindle (Hawkeye / Ambush)
- Stillpiercer
- Tao Hua Yuan
- Antimony XVI
Thanks

I am making this edit, because a lot of drive-by posters with little knowledge on the subject keep referencing aim assist. Guns Update
The 1000 Yard Stare with Shortgaze is really good on most maps, provided you have a range perk added to it (the quest one does); HOWEVER, it is pretty awful on large maps such as Widow's Court. I'd recommend changing scopes on larger maps. It's a beast in this week's Trials.

I really like the 1000 yard, but I've also noticed shots that i felt i would have easily made with my supremacy or that i was very confident that i made where i just missed all together. I usually chalk it up to me not being used to the shortgaze still or me being rusty because I've been using a sidearm lately

3 답변Lol I have noticed it as well I have watched my bullet hit the guys head and he flinched and I get nothing. Like what and sometimes I can't shoot my sniper it just won't fire it's weird.

3 답변I don't really like the year 2 snipers either. The only legendary high impact sniper that I'm comfortable with is the 1000 Yard Stare but I can't seem to get a good roll on it..

10 답변I'm liking the Harrowed Defiance of Yasmin a lot for crucible play and the raid. The sights are nice and clear.

1 답변They do seem really off, I was accustomed to using Praedyth's revenge which had really low aim assist, all the new ones seem to have quite high, still looking for a high RoF sniper preferably with ambush scope that has low aim assist :/

작성자: Haze 10/26/2015 3:07:59 PMFirst holy damn 10 AA on my baby 2nd I haven't noticed a difference except for still piercer and hereafter I cant use them everything else is fine to me..... Unless it's got an eagle eye on it get that shit outta here

작성자: Bisto 10/26/2015 3:04:07 PMYes i also think the Y2 snipers 'feel' different than Y1 snipers. My first sniper was an Ambush LDR5001, then i got a Shortgaze Her Benevolence, both of which i got on well with. Now the only Y2 sniper ive used in the cruicible is 1000 Yard stare with Shortgaze and it really took a long time to adjust to it. Up until a couple of days ago i felt useless with it but then went on a 4-5 match skirmish spree landing 20+ kills and 3-4+KD each time which were mainly sniper kills. Fingers crossed were on the same wavelength now with Trials just around the corner! For me, when you get shot whilst hardscoping, the flinch seems to be alot harsher now than it used to be. Alot harder to land shots whilst taking fire.

작성자: KidSixXx 10/26/2015 2:00:57 PMI love my Stillpiercer. Hereafter's recoil always seemed to throw off my headshot. I can score straight on headshots with Stillpiercer but I had to aim for the neck with Hereafter to get reliable precision kills. The increased stability that Stillpiercer has makes drag sniping a bit better for me.

2 답변Not very helpful, but I ranked up with the Queen yesterday and she gave me a Benevolence. That did 160 damage. I cried.

I was best with Long bow and the spear. Been playing really well with the hereafter, it's extremely fast and I think has perfect handling. A little jilted to find out it has so much AA, but it's been working for me. Going from the Hereafter to the Eirene has a noticeable difference in how much less AA there is, I had never noticed it until Y2

I don't use snipers in PvP. But for PvE i've settled with the Omolon Eirene RR4 and Defiance of Yasmine. Eirene because of the impact and "kind of infra-red scope". DoY because it handles more smoothly and has a smaller reticle than the Eirene. It's also good for quick-scopes on Tier 2 enemies. Every sniper has a hidden stat called handling (Duh). It has to "feel" right. Those two snipers are the ones that feel best when i use them.
