I have slow internet and usually red bar. It's the fastest internet in my area so I can't upgrade. Did they just say if my internet compromises the experience for others even though it is unintentional I'll be banned?

작성자: D1V1N1TY 10/16/2015 1:41:18 PMWhile I agree that something needs to be done about red bars / lag, I don't believe that the onus should be placed entirely upon the player. I only have 2 choices for internet, DSL (slow as hell ping) or wireless (not cellular - fast ping and download/upload but unreliable). I can usually maintain a green bar, but there are times where I'll red bar due to an unreliable connection. When we purchased this game, there were no requirements specified for the type of internet connection. If Bungie and Activision had actually spent some money on dedicated servers, the system wouldn't be so sensitive to connections, and they wouldn't have these issues. If I am having connection issues, I back out on my own so as to not affect the play of others and because it's very frustrating if you're lagged and shots aren't registering. If I ever become banned for unintentional lag, I will not be returning to Destiny. I think they can do better for a solution ....

3 답변Honestly, this is kind of crazy based on Bungie's end. I have great internet, can stream movies flawlessly, playing PC games flawlessly, etc, and will still get red bar's in Destiny occasionally. I get that my internet may have fluctuations, but in no way compares to the amount of Baboon and other nonsensical errors I get from Destiny's services. I think they are treading on a very slippery slope here banning people for a service they purchased for something that may or may not be there fault.

Not everyone has money to live in an area with a good internet provider, not everyone has to money to get top tier internet and in some areas people have the best internet they can get but unfortunately it's just not enough. Let's also. Not forgot destiny's servers suck. I only lag in destiny, don't lag in halo, nor ESO, nor titanfall, nor any other online game. That should say something. If people really want better gaming experience then tell bungie to spend a little Money for dedicated servers.

1 답변I am fortunate to have very good internet but I don't think people realize great internet is not always available in certain areas. People that might live in rural areas are limited to what they can get. Most of those people only get satellite internet which is god awful. But it's not the persons fault. It's the providers fault. If Bungie would quit being so -blam!-ing cheap and invest in dedicated servers we would not have this problem. People with fast internet red bar all the time because it piggy backs off other internet connections. Grow some nuts Bungie and move into the 21st century.

6 답변I will sue, it says in the terms that the game requires internet connection. But any level is acceptable (or something around this). Which means that they are breaking there own rules, I will then sue them so I came be unbanned and but better internet

3 답변Agree that its not fair. However, I pay alot of money to have a top internet connection and its not fair that I end up with red bar players that ruin my experience. So the solution is simple, put all the red bar players together in the same lobies and let the games begin.

작성자: justingoska 10/16/2015 7:48:14 PMIt'll have to be so bad, that it looks like you're lagswitching. If you're not cheating, I don't think you'll have a problem. It wouldn't be an issue if Bungie wasn't too cheap to set up dedicated servers. It shows how much they really don't care.

작성자: SisterFridge 10/16/2015 7:38:40 PMI'm really hoping this isn't too extreme. I play with someone from Australia. He has a bad connection but he's still very good at the game. I don't want him to get banned because of internet connections he has no control of and can do nothing about.

2 답변This is probably partly Bungie's fault to begin with. Given that Destiny uses P2P connections, the red bar does not really give much of an indication of your actual internet speeds. It's more of an indication of the latency and whoever was chosen as the host of the match. If you have 50 up 50 down Internet, but you live in CA and your host is in the UK, you may still show up with a red bar. The best way to correct this issue is to give matchmaking a priority based on the region the participants are playing in. So UK players play with other UK players, etc. From what I can tell, that was never implemented at all. I routinely end up playing with people from regions pretty far from my own.
