For people that are absolutely losing their minds: the items found for Tess's store do not mean they are pay-to-win.
Pay-to-win is when a game sells weapons or armor that are instantly delivered to a player to give them a significant advantage over other players in PVE and/or PVP.
EXP Boosts and instant subclass unlocks are NOT pay-to-win items. They're pay-to-save-time if anything, but that doesn't have quite the ring to it. EXP boosts from enemies killed means nothing, just faster unlocks for subclasses and faster to level 40.
And for anyone arguing that increased chances of drops in the raid being pay-to-win, I have a question for you:
Back when VoG and Crota came out, how many times did you raid trying to get one piece of gear. And then whined and whined an whined about drop rates?
Granted, back then light level mattered more, but light has changed and you can be fine without raiding in endgame PVP. It just might take more time to get closer to 300.
I have ran Kings Fall 9 times total. I have YET to have any heavy weapon drops. Would I pay for a higher chance? If I still have issues than perhaps. But I don't have to buy it to win or have an advantage over anyone else.
This community will find anything to complain about. These items are NOT a big deal. People are drastically overreacting.

Its all fine and dandy till they start messing with drop rates of shit on the dl. You know, like those little mini nerfs they would have and not tell folks about? Very disappointed in being lied to. Bungie said microtransactions would be purely cosmetic. And clearly they fückin lied

I'm just going to keep playing destiny, I honestly don't care about any of this and if they do decide to make it a pay-to-win I'll just play warframe or something else. I'll still play destiny even if it does become that. All we can do is just wait and see.

Pay for loot= pay to win. Absolutely. 100%. If you don't agree, you're wrong. People shouldn't be able to pay extra money and acquire more gear or acquire gear more easily than people who "only" bought the game. I don't care about exp or subclass leveling. If you want to waste money on that, fine. But buying gear or increased drop rates should never happen in this game.

12 답변작성자: Gruffy 10/14/2015 8:48:51 AMPaying for a greater probability of item drops is pay to win, doubtless Bungie will mess with the drop rates so you pretty much have to buy consumables. You're a moron. Way to cherry pick to try and support your position.

5 답변Wrong.. pay to win is anything that can give you an advantage over someone else that is bought with out of game currency aka real money.

You need to change your mindset. You're comparing end game people with new people. Being a time saver is exactly what P2W is. If Tess sold all of the raid gear it would be a time saver. You don't need to waste your time in the raid. It's all the same thing. XP boosts, selling mats, selling currency, selling weapons and selling gear or engram packages. They would all basically save time in getting any and/or all of these. Compare two noobs. One buys XP boosts and one doesn't. The one who bought XP boosts has an advantage over the one who didnt. That's what pay to win is. Let's give another example. Say another DLC comes out. We get an extra 30 levels. Those that pay for XP boosts will reach level 50 before those that didnt pay(if their play time and style is reletively the same). This is pay to win. So even though it may not be as huge of an advantage, paying for XP boosts would still fall under pay to win. An advantage is still an advantage. Maybe not an advantage over ALL players at this time, but that doesn't change the fact that it's still an advantage over some.

4 답변Right but they said they would be purely cosmetic. And now, literally the day the trading company came into the game, they added these items to the database. They didn't even wait 24 hours to lie to us on that.

작성자: Dead General X 10/14/2015 12:12:22 PMOnly issue is if they decide to reduce the drop rates to make it more appealing for you to spend the extra money to increase it. If I were developing this game and my goal was to make the most money, the idea of lowering drop rates come into play when designing the game to make things like buying a possible increase to drops more appealing. Wether it be just a slight amount or not, it could effect future content. Though not saying it's going to happen, I'm just saying it's something I'm sure that's going to be on some designers subconscious minds when making future content or changes. Idk. Something to think about.

People consider advanced warfare "pay to win" where the drop packages give you guaranteed items but only a better chance at getting useful ones. This is literally becoming pay to win it started off only emotes and it has already become this, you can't tell me this isn't making sense to you.

5 답변No one complained when they got Red bull codes for the Focused light xp boosts. So I agree that something like that which just saves a little time is not too game breaking. But the whole idea of buying anything which Increases drop rates from activities, strange coins ect....that can never be allowed to happen.
-
I am not sure many people know the meaning of pay to win! Buying armor you can get ingame is not pay to win itself. Pay to win is purchasing anything that gives you an advantage over other players you can not obtain ingame. For example an emote, exp boost, even 280 light gear in a cash shop is not pay to win. Buying a boost to a weapon that would give it more damage then anything obtained ingame is pay to win!!!

2 답변Those items found aren't for Tess's store https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/3nu5hb/bungie_never_lied_about_microtransactions_and/

I damn sure don't want to pay for increased drop rates, that's bull shit man. I do not like the direction this is going and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one. What they are doing is smart though. Limit strange coins then add a buff to get them for 30 mins for a buck? Naw man I'm out.

3 답변It actually is an advantage dipshit! You, YOU get a higher chance to get more raid armors and weapons from the next foe you kill in the kingsfall. AND ITS WITH REAL MONEY. This is nothing like VoG or Crota. This is bullshit.

You make a fair few points that actually show the damage that people like you are making on the games industry right now. It is because of chimps like you that are quite happy to pay extra money for an increased chance at a drop that the developers are putting these micro transactions into games. If you don't think this is a big deal you are just showing how naive you really are and don't understand the big picture aswell as the eventuality of your own actions.
-
Pay to win is also when the developers make it more difficult to progress in the game and add micro transactions to speed up or cut out progression completely. Exp boost is kind of OK because it still requires you to play to use it but I'm not sure how I feel about them selling items that instantly upgrade sub classes or bundles that give you ammo synthesis. Maybe if it's a one time item that only new players can buy so they catch up to friends is a situation in which it is ok. But I think bungie is walking a thin line. I'm glad to see many YouTube and twitch players have said if Bungie starts a pay to win model they will not support destiny. I know I will not.

작성자: O8C7 10/14/2015 10:54:42 AMPay to play = pay to complete = pay to win, it's all the same bro. They will release weapons as they aren't game breaking since Bungie believes this game is balanced and no single gun has any advantage over another. You will still be able to obtain max damage weapons too so any kind of exclusive (like playstation) won't be considered an unfair advantage at raids or crucible. Unless ps4 raids have more enemies in they which it doesn't.....
